Have you guys considered having more Featured Articles? There are some, like the Majora's Mask and Link's Awakening page, that are damn good.

Just wondering, is the server TCRF is on being hammered by requests again, or is it a problem on my end that it tends to not load correctly (timeouts etc.) for me the last few days?

Same here.

Insofar as featured articles go, maybe we should take another little vote or something as to what articles should be considered 'Featured Articles'.

Probably neither: minecraft.net is having constant issues. Right now, the website won't even load.

Link's Awakening *is* a Featured Article. It's just that nobody can decide who should make a "Featured" blurb for it. A few other pages, such as Fallout: New Vegas, and the Megaman 7 prototype, are also Featured, but lack the main page blurbs.

I noticed after I posted that.

EDIT: I don't mind a discussion about what should be in a featured article.

That said, I think the FF6 page is very close to getting Featured status. But it just doesn't seem complete unless I can find a way to hack in the unused key items. I can't find anything on them, though. No FAQs mention them. No editors support key item editing. I can't find them in the ROM, nor can I find where the key items stored in savestates. And although one Game Genie code list has codes to get them, they don't work (none of the codes in that section work, as a matter of fact). And I tried them on several versions of the game.

For one, Majora's Mask still needs lots of work (and I need to stop being lazy) before it can get anywhere near featured.

Couple questions.

Should demos be counted as prototypes? I mean like demos that were publicly released on demo discs or something (see Proto:Chrono Cross). Maybe they should have their own label, like say Demo:Chrono Cross? Or would that just complicate stuff and it's enough to just say the page is covering the demo version of the game? Either way, I think demos should definitely be covered on the site, just maybe not lumped together with the stuff we weren't meant to get a hold of.

Question 2: Is it worth creating a page just for regional differences if there's a decent amount?

As long as it's made before the game comes out I don't see why not. Quake 2 has a demo that came out before the game was released, and it had a few elements that didn't make it into the final version. I'd label it as a prototype. Same with the Chrono Cross Demo, but it's unused content is mostly buried in the files.

I've seen people use subpages to deal with regional differences.

I honestly think it all depends. Just what kind of demo are we talking about anyway?

If it's something like an E3/Trade Show demo, I think I would label that under prototype. If it's a separate released demo altogether, well...hmm, then it blurs the line a little more, but I don't know enough about stuff like Playstation demos and what not in order to make a clear judgement. Were these things usually released well beforehand>?

I say it depends of how long it was between the demo and the final game came out. If there's a large to medium gap, I'd consider it a prototype. If it was released about a month or so before the final game came out, probably not.

Added the Mega Man 7 prototype to the featured article cycle. It only took me 5 months!

Great. Now I guess we flip a coin and decide who gets to do the Link's Awakening featured blurb.

Quickie question: Should prototypes be listed on a series' navbox? I did that with the Serious Sam one, and IMO, it looks fine.

Yeah, make sure to add a link to it either on the Bob or the series template or whatever. Take a look at some of the other articles with prototypes on them (the major ones) to see what I mean.

I always make sure to link to a proto page on the main page's Bob template.

Cool. I'm in the mood to make a few more series templates, and I wanted to be sure if it was okay if I linked to prototype pages.
