So this game came out.

One of the best fighters I've ever played. Right up there with Tatsunoko vs Capcom.

My team right now consists of Deadpool, Zero, and Wesker. All three kick a lot of ass and Deadpool is the most hilarious character to ever play.

Discussion thread.

It's a pity Zero is the only one representing the entire megaman series.

And Ryu is cool and all, but I would have liked to have seen Guile or Zangief too.

Anyways I've heard that it has pretty good gameplay from my friends, but I'm short on spare cash, so no games for me.

I'm bad at fighters, so outside of a few rounds, I just watched my friends play, but I had decent fun in the few rounds I played.

It's a blast to watch; very slick and well-done. The impression I got from it in pre-release screenshots and the like was that they were trying too hard with the whole comic-action motif, but it's absolutely GORGEOUS in motion.

The music is fantastic; Hideyuki Fukasawa (the guy who did the music for Street Fighter IV) absolutely nailed the crossover feeling, which can especially be heard in the Daily Bugle stage theme, for example. The way that song opens like a SFIV stage theme, then transitions into that mixed with something out of a Marvel movie soundtrack... It's pretty much perfect.

He has a Megaman costume.

But it has Haggar so it would be kind of redundant.

There's also Tron Bonne from Mega Man Legends, if anyone else needs any reminders.

So yeah, looks amazing. I still need to get a 360, then maybe I can go get the Collector's Edition.

Just got this game today, (special edition!) and I have to say, it IS the best fighting game ever!

I couldn't stop playing it!

My main team so far is Felicia, Chun-Li and Deadpool. Though that'll change when I play the game a lot more!

Also, I have it for PS3 if anybody wants to fight me, Add my PSN ID: Technomari

Killing Magneto as Deadpool and winning causes Deadpool's victory quote to be "I defeated Mag-freakin-neto. Where yo' curleh mustache at!?"

1) I have a VERY strong hunch that Mega Man will end up being a DLC character.
2) Tron Bonne doesn't count?

I'm not entirely convinced DLC characters a) count or b) are a good idea.

A bit like Tron Bonne in those respects.

I'd like to be excited about mvc3 the way I'd like to be excited about ssf4... but the way I am with serious games, I'd have to absolutely commit to becoming strong, and in this case that requires investing in a fightstick- and a quality fightstick is around $150. If you get a good deal.

So until I have some serious disposable income it's just not going to happen. Since right now my chief sources of nourishment are instant ramen, sandwiches, and epic mooching from friends, we are perhaps some distance from this coming to pass.

That said, I always get excited about the idea of playing games online with you guys. I might just pick it up and play controller-casual if enough people here are psyched about it. I did my best to play Starcraft II with a few people but I'm the only one around here still crazy about that game.

I think my team would be Zero, Amaterasu, Magneto. Magneto is in danger of losing his spot to Akuma or Viewtiful Joe depending on how any of these characters actually play.

None of the characters seem heavily broken from what I played.

Except MODOK.

I want this game so badly. I was actually playing MvC2 last night to satisfy my fix.

Not really. MODOK is pretty awesome if you know how to play him, he has amazing air cancels and can fly around. A deady mix! (His kick buttons have a longer range too, thus being a really good cancel if someone tries to do an air combo on you)

And his long beam attacks are pretty cheap..

Also, I noticed that Magneto and Dr. Doom have been nerfed to hell. They're not bad characters, but now their moves require so much timing now that they're as slow as the Hulk. Remember how cheap they both were in MvC2? Good thing they fixed that. XD

Overall though, amazing game!

We gave it a quick whirl in a Play N Trade and it seems like another decent fighting game. I liked the diversity of characters you can pick, especially with some odd ones like Arthur ().

Would get if I had an Xbox360.

PS3 is just another gaming system.

360 just has more of my friends playing it.

Also my new team is Wolverine/Iron Man/Deadpool.

I have one but I don't play on it as much as my 360. Ps3 is more for GT5 and Heavy Rain.

I gave up waiting for my review copy and bought the damn game for 360. Up to play against you guys whenever. Just send an invite.

I have it on PS3, I sent you a friend request Anthony. My team is currently Deadpool, Zero, Chun-li, but it's obviously not very good since this is legitimately my first traditional fighter. A couple hours of training mode and a couple more hours of online battles with friends and I've got the basics down. I need a fight stick though, definitely.

For a traditional fighter, this is as easy as you can get without playing Tatsunoko vs Capcom. The controls are much easier to grasp and a launch button makes it a lot easier to execute combos.

If I can ever afford it, I want to use the same team CPUBasic noted in the OP. I've always liked MvC games. Also, Xbox 360 all the way.
