Hooked up a monitor to this burn drill console. Had it screwed into the plate with 8/32x3/4 screws and then had it all taken care of and forgot one major thing.

Today, at the beginning of school, I got my books from my locker for my first few classes, then noticed that I forgot my English notebook after going down the stairs... so I go back up, mess with my lock, get out my English notebook, and go off... leaving all of the rest of the stuff I needed back in my locker Thankfully it was the beginning of the day, so I had plenty of time to go back, but still...

I think I did alright today.

There was one thing, though. HH already knows what it is because he was helping me out with some other issues I was having:

So I finally got this C++ program I was writing to compile, and I start testing it out on example files to make sure it works. Well, it was working great, and then I decided to test it on some non example files, to see if it could handle the wrong kind of input.

The file I opened had a size of 0.

I had a function in the program that looks somewhat like:

while (ReadCursorVal < FileSize - 4)

ReadCursorVal is = to ftell (File'sName), so ReadCursorVal = 0.

But FileSize - 4 = -4. And FileSize isn't signed.

So ReadCursorVal is stuck at 0 and FileSize-4 is stuck at 0xFFFFFFFC. And there's the infinite loop that made me realize my mistake. v_v;;

Being told where a certain thing is, but looking way beyond it/overlooking it. I spent a good few minutes walking around the main office at school, trying to find a box to get a PA announcement list (Journalism stuff yay).

So the other day the teacher handed back a true/false quiz and remarked how poorly everyone did. I took at look at one that was marked wrong, but I was sure it had been right. I joked "are you sure you used the right answer key?" Sure enough, 5 minutes later, she's going through the answers and realizes she used the wrong key. Since it was true/false, the marks hadn't been so terrible as to suggest that, but still pretty bad.

I'd imagine it was a scantron test or something.

I can't really think of any head->desk moments, but I do feel pretty dumb when I'm walking, and then suddenly stumble clumsily for no good reason other than that I stepped my foot wrong. But I do it so gracefully that everyone is charmed by my stumble. (...I *wish* )
