Just as the ancient Mayans predicted... no, seriously, the ancient Mayans were all about post count. That was, in fact, the major reason they developed the zero.

Someone should set up an autoban script when he hits 4999 just in case he manages to slip his 5000th post through.

Just keep posting 7 times a day (8 times every 4 days), and this'll come true.

I wanted to get 5000 on my forum anniversary, but obviously that didn't pan out.

Unless there's a joke I'm missing (which could be the case )

His current post rate is 7.26/day - at this rate, he'll have 5000 posts by 12/21/12. To achieve this, you multiply 7.26*4 = 29.04 = (7*4) + 1 ... or seven posts per day and an extra one on the fourth.

You'll also have to make an extra one every 100 days to account for that .01 remaining every day.

OK, Teflon. Your next assignment is to find the derivative y' of the function y = (sin x - cos 3x)/(x³ + 7x² - ln x²). Due tomorrow at 8 AM sharp.

Sure thing.

Of course the Mayan Calendar actually was just the end of a cycle, so what it actually means is the proverbial VHS tape is being rewound, taken out, and replaced with another one to continue the calendar on. :p

But where can you find VHS tapes nowadays? And it'll probably be even worse in 2012.

VHS and audiotape aren't dead... people still trade them often, on sites like eBay (and some people still use cassettes for some things, such as recording radio)

And antique transistor radios will never die since the FCC says no to mandatory digital radio

Antique radios won't die, but those with TV station dials will find no use for them even now. (it seems like TV audio dials used to be more common on radios, but for whatever reason became rare even by the 1990s...)

NOT COOL! History repeats its self! We wouldn't get internet for thousands of years!
