In fact, I hope to make it my main career... hopefully.

Programming died for me before I even started it.
The most programming I've done is some basic C++ (in school) and some Layout Creation.
The most programming I've done...is nothing. Take that! |

Don't feel so bad about it. The programming world moves so fast, even the people who are up to date are very far behind. Only those who are creating all this programming stuff are actually caught up, but only for a few hours when somebody else 1ups them.
Well, good thing I never got into programming then, because I hate having to make sure I know the latest and greatest in a field just to really like it. |

Yep. That drove me nuts.
So I switched to math, which doesn't change much (unless you get into really high-level math). It's not like they'll invent a new whole number between 3 and 4 next week and you have to learn math all over again. ____________________

I went one step further and don't have an interest in anything really technical, like hard science, programming, math and the like. |

See this is why assembly for old-ish systems is the only programming I do.

| What's weird is that I like doing certain technical things like dissecting a prototype for the The Cutting Room Floor wiki, but give me something like a math, hard science or programming book and I'll say "fuck this" after like five minutes of reading and trying to understand it. |

these days that's more like a step back. it is very easy to fall far behind.
