So, I've re-picked up heart gold. I've just beat the ice gym...

Piloswine!!! You annoying powerhouse! You just had to nuke all my team besides my Staryu and make me waste 2 revives!

All well, I get to go beat up team-rocket now.

Haha, I hate him to. He is just a pain in the rear for sure.
Anyway I am playing Pokemon Platinum and I was wondering if anyone knows how to capture Mespirt and Uxie because they are beginning to tick me off.

Charmander is great - my starter in FireRed - but it takes time to train and you need some exceptional support for him for the first few Gyms...

Also, on SoulSilver just now, one of my two eggs hatched and finally contained a male Burmy, which I promptly proceeded to evolve into Mothim. That makes 479 seen, 476 cought.

And EDIT, my usual team when playing SoulSilver:
- Physical Striker: "Yomi" Scizor, Lv 100, HP 268, Atk 365, Def 248, SpAtk 121, SpDef 169, Spd 182
- Special Striker: "Blaze" Typhlosion, Lv 76, HP 233, Atk 169, Def 193, SpAtk 192, SpDef 141, Spd 194
- Defender and Flyer: "Serenity" Lugia, Lv 72, HP 247, Atk 167, Def 218, SpAtk 149, SpDef 247, Spd 197
- Surfer: "Crimson" Red Gyarados, Lv 48, HP 154, Atk 139, Def 109, SpAtk 65, SpDef 101, Spd 111
- Cute Biribiri: "Mikoto" Pikachu, Lv 44, HP 94, Atk 70, Def 47, SpAtk 54, SpDef 46, Spd 101
- HM Slave: Bibarel, Lv 43, HP 133, Atk 82, Def 56, SpAtk 70, SpDef 69, Spd 77

Not really made for fighting, but Yomi and Blaze do pack a punch.

I played SS again just the other day and decided to run around Mt. Silver leveling up my Yanmega and a few others for the hell of it. Really though, I'm just waiting for B/W to come out at this point.

I think I'm up to the major plot portion after the 5th/6th gym in Platinum, but it's been like 7 months since I've last played it. I should go back and finish it sometime. :s

I got stuck before the steel-type girl 'cause I am terrible at Pokemon.
All attempts to train a really tough fire-type team have failed. She's just too damn annoying with her bajillion full heals.

Wouldn't it be possible to inflict her Pokemon with an easy and minor status effect over and over to make her script waste Full Heals (which get rid of status effects as well IIRC) without wasting your PP for major attacks?

I plan in beating Heart Gold before Black and White are released.

"beating Heart Gold" as in beating Red. I'm that far behind.


I haven't actually done anything at all beyond getting the Shiny Raikou. Perhaps leveling my secondary team (which I'll use to capture the birds and explore Kanto in general) a little. (And going crazy with the pokéthlon)

My main team is still in 50-60 (Max. Bayleaf at 59; Min. being Glaceon and Togetic both at 54.) I plan in leveling them up with Gym leader rematches and the Elite 4 (as well as the silver events). I plan in having them at least at 70 with all the level up moves learned already (glaceon needs blizzard, you know)


Also my secondary team at 40-50 when the Giovanni event shows up.

Don't forget that you can exploit her Pokemon's secondary types, such as using Earthquake on her Magetons and the like. IIRC that's how I beat her in the original version.

I'm playing through soul silver with GB music enabled from the start, I never really liked the style of several of the remixes. :p


Anyhow, I'm going with a three mon team this time.

Water started line. (level 24) in day care ATM.
Misdreavus (level 23) (I traded myself an egg fairly early on from my HG copy! :3 )
Togepi (level 19) (trying to level this one up so I can beat the next gym.)

I'm right before the goldenrod city gym ATM!

(having a ghost type feels a bit like cheating against a normal type gym though! )

Edit: Psywave is such a shitty early game move. ._.

Honestly, it doesn't matter terribly much. I have a GBA flashcard that has RTC support (and recharges by use) so if I really cared I could just stick a copy on that
