The screens are connected by a slick sliding liquid-metal hinge that Kyocera's filed several patents on -- the phone can be closed and used like a regular single-screen phone, unfolded all the way, or propped up into the faux-laptop configuration shown above. Under the hood there's a 1GHz second-gen Snapdragon running Android 2.2

It looks pretty interesting. I like the idea of a dual screen phone and their implementation is really well thought out. The fact that one screen folds on top of the other for storage is great. When I saw the photo I was wondering how it was stored, I don't like the idea of the screens facing each other or one on the front and one on the back. But if you watch the video, it'll make sense.

I'm not sure exactly how much use 2 screens would be over the flip phones with physical keyboards, but it is still a really interesting idea.

Paulguy's Post configuration
I'd rather a keyboard than a second screen. Imagine all the software that'd be unaware of the split screens, being awkwardly split in the middle.

^^^ Pretty much all of it. This thing is so disappointing i almost want to buy an iphone until i remembered that then i'd be chained down to itunes.

Then again, it can't be as bad as the samsung moment :smugdra:

I agree it's an interesting idea, but I have to share the skepticism... especially in my own case, I tend to prefer smart-phones that don't open or slide- from the perspective of a mobile device you use on the go, it just seems to make more sense to be able to access everything right away with one hand.
