In the USA, they often check ID if you look under 40, so someone who's 39 still has to prove that they're not 17.

What I hate is when people light up next to you and don't even care about the second hand smoke. It happens all the time at casinos here in Vegas. Smoking is allowed pretty much everywhere inside a casino. I'll be sitting at a machine, someone sits next to me with a cigarette and the smoke just wafts right into my face. They don't even care, they just keep holding it there while they play. I hold my breath and just leave usually.

Several casinos (mainly the Stations) tried to implement smoke free zones. I remember seeing them all with their green stickers on them. But a few weeks later, they were gone. Not really sure what happened. I played them a few times but they did always seem to be empty whenever we went there.
