My policy is if it's at all useable in IE, and works as expected in other browsers, it's fine. Unfortunately, a blank page isn't at all useable.

So now the question is do I put all the content into a database and output it as either XHTML or plain HTML depending on the browser, or just output an "IE sucks, get another browser" message?

I'll implement the latter now as a temporary measure, and I'll have to decide whether it'll really be temporary.

I actually suggested outputting a Content-Type header of text/html based on the code in my catgirl generator (cgi version.) It worked fine in IE7.
