I've finally dusted off my DS to play the latest Professor Layton game, and it's fun as hell. I've been out of the loop as far as the handheld goes and I was wondering what sort of games you guys recommend for it. New and old, I want to rebuild my collection, especially since the power's been going out a lot lately. I'm not too interested in RPG's.

Here's what's on my list:
Picross 3D
Mario Kart
Mario 64
Meteos
Bratz Ponyz
Kirby Super Star Ultra

So what are your favorites?

I highly suggest megaman ZX and MM ZX advent for your platforming action needs! If you're into contra games there is contra 4, and I have heard it's quite good. I'm more of an RPG nut myself, but I will suggest what springs to mind... advance wars dual strike is also a must have game IMO.

Some of the DS games that have stuck in my head for one reason or another (all good ones, tho) over the past ~5 years:

New Super Mario Bros.
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney
Sonic Rush
Mario Kart DS
Mega Man Zero Collection
WarioWare Touched
Bangai-O Spirits

There's a few others that I enjoyed, but wouldn't necessarily recommend, like ex. SBK: Snowboard Kids (okay game, but the N64 ones were better) or Mega Man Battle Network 5 DS (good game, but not the best of the bunch and an RPG).

Also there at least two that I have only played emulated for a bit (and still haven't bought them <.<), but are really good as well, like ex. Kirby: Power Paintbrush (EU)/Kirby: Canvas Curse (US) and Retro Game Challenge (which sadly didn't come out in Europe).
