 | OOC: Yes, I launched into space as well.
Meanwhile, above the Gjällarhorn...
Caution: Unidentified spacecraft approaching.
Incoming report from Innerpeace: You will notice several spacecraft entering the general airspace. They are not hostile. These are the fruit of our latest project, FRAXY. We are currently scanning for the location of the Sanctuary. Expect to see results soon.
"Acknowledged. Heimdallr and Vishnu, stand down."
Incoming message from Arcadia: "I believe that I can find Sanctuary with my space station, but it will take about 36 hours. You needn't worry on the millitary end, I have some weapons that should come in handy. I was planning on using them against you but there are bigger things to worry about now. We are allies for now, but beware; if you try anything during or after this war is over, we will destroy you without hesitation. Arcadia out."
"Do not worry. I cannot conquer the world, if there IS no world. The SHION will not show hostility. I trust you won't, either."
Incoming report from Maëlstrom: Gravity distrubances detected. It appears they are targetted and localized in Innerpeace boundaries. No environmental damage or casualties have been detected, but all structures within the impact zone have collapsed to the ground. Reports indicate the disruptions were initiated by four Innerpeace recon satellites.
"Interesting... They have come up with a way to devastate enemy fortifications without significantly harming human lives or the environment... We might find such a technology useful. Contact Innerpeace; see if they're willing to part with the information so we can incorporate these weapons into the Gjällarhorn and Chakra. If they're not, then we will have to derive our own system from the analysis of the footage."
Incoming report from the Coalition: The Sanctuary has been found. Repeat, the Sanctuary has been found. Freedonia's Degausse generator succeeded in de-cloaking the island. All nations are advised to prepare for war.
"So it has begun... Doctor Isaacs. Launch the Shiva at once, along with the remainder of the space units. You shall go with them."
"But sire, what about the Maëlstrom? Who will stay in charge?"
"Fret not; AURIOS is more than capable of defending the base... or what will remain of it."
"But won't it be destroyed along with the Maëlstrom?"
Cirvante took out a holographic disk in his hand, smiling.
"These backups say otherwise."
"...Understood, herr Meister. But what should we do about the Shiten-mon units?"
"Deploy them all except for the Genbu Fortress. The latter will serve as a mobile base should the Maëlstrom go down. As for the Suzaku, bring it up here."
"Do not worry about the rest of our terrenal units. I will give the evacuation orders myself."
"Yes, herr Meister."
An alarm sounded throughout Maëlstrom. A third hatch opened up, launching what appeared to be a huge octopus-like thing with eight short arms.
"Good luck. The fate of our nation, maybe even our world, lies with you..."
The face of a SHION official appeared on the screen.
"General Karst? Has something happened down there?"
"Lord Meister. We have captured a spy lurking in the lower sectors of the base. He appears to have forwarded our communications and some sensitive data to the Sanctuary. What should we do with him?"
"...This complicates things. No wonder the Sanctuary knew all of our defenses inside and out... Hold him for questioning. I want to see how much he knows."
Meanwhile, back down at Maëlstrom...
The Sanctuarian spy was bound to a wall in one of the medical bays, costodied by to heavily armed guards at his side, and two more outside the room. General Karst stood in front of him, evidently about to torture him.
"I will ask you some questions. Depending on how you answer them, your death shall either be quick and painless, or slow and horrible. You decide."
"What is your name?"
The captured spy said nothing.
"No answer, eh? Take this!"
General Karst slashed the prisoner once with his energy sword, creating a deep gash in his right chest area. As the slash was slow, the captured Sanctuarian screamed at the top of his lungs for mercy.
"I will ask you again. What is your name, and why are you here?"
"Aaaagghh! Make it stop! MAKE IT STOOOOOP!!"
"Then, answer me!"
"AArrgh! All right, I'll tell everything; just please stop! Uwaaargh!"
"Very well. I'm listening."
"...My name is K'tar-ma. I was sent by the Holy Leader to gather information about your intentions and research."
"How long have you been here?"
"...Two years, three months, and sixteen days."
"Are there more of you?"
"Sanctuarian spies work alone," he said with a grin on his face, "but yes, there are more of us. Just... not here."
"Where are the others?!"
"Like I'd ever tell... You're going to kill me anyway, better to die with the secret..."
As he said these words, his smile grew bigger.
"X'sharet maha'din ta-K'rsei... Long live the Sanctuary!"
By saying this, K'tar-ma activated the suicide device implanted in his brain. His head exploded, taking two of the guards with him and leaving a gory mess of blood and severed body parts throughout his capsule.
"Forward this interrogation to the Gjällarhorn. Herr Meister will most likely want to hear this..."
The scene shifted back to the Gjällarhorn.
"Thanks for the transcript, General Karst. I shall warn the other nations immediately."
Incoming report from Maëlstrom: Enemy Quad mechs are assembling at the Sanctuary border line. They appear to be amassing their forces in order to prevent an invasion.
"Alert the other nations. Initiate defense formations! Deploy our air and naval forces in a 400-kilometer perimeter around the base. Destroy anything that comes near."
"Admiral Serges. Have the Ragnarök ready to fire at the first sign of trouble, and activate the Gjällarhorn's defenses, including the null-field generator."
"Aye, sir."
"Doctor Isaacs. How is progress on the Infinity and the reverse-engineering?"
"We have been unable to figure out how on Earth could they generate so much power in such a small frame. It is possible that Innerpeace has developed a smaller energy source and is using them on their satellites.
As for Project Infinity, the design implementations and simulations are complete. However, we cannot begin construction undetected, as the project is way too large-scale. We'd need a larger hangar, first of all, but short of building ourselves a new moon base..."
"We'll have to work with what we have. For now, focus on reverse-engineering the gravitational disruptors. If Innerpeace desides to share their documents, continue working on Project Infinity."
