Well, that, and they want you to keep using their motherboard, but hard drives sort of come and go. We replaced the HDD in the old 366i2 for similar reasons to what you did, for example.
Ya i just want to double my internal 0S drive from 160GB to 320GB and adding the 2 other drive because i hate having 20GB of music and about 10GB of computer programs on here.
Anyway, what are the specs on your ancient eMachine 366i2. |

| | Metal_Man88's Post | 533 MHz Celeron, 128 MB SDRAM, about 30 GB HDD (on an ancient 7200 RPM HDD that sounds like a chainsaw when run--yes, it always sounded like this, 7200 RPM was bleeding edge at the time), CD-rom drive, floppy drive, some anemic power supply 200Wish (had to replace the original one when it blew out), onboard and broken sound chip, USB ports... I plugged in a 16 MB PCI card because the onboard video blew chunks, and I cut a 120mm hole in the side and stuck a glowing blue exhaust fan.
I had plotted to upgrade it to a 1.13 GHz PIII Coppermine but the motherboard couldn't take the extreme FSB and it'd take soldering a new frequency resonator onto the board to make it work, which as you might guess was a bit too extreme for me to undertake.
Also it uses Windows 98 first edition, bugs and all.

| | Metal_Man88's Post | Unfortunately, the FSB on mine couldn't even take a 900 MHz Celeron. No amount of sneaky Powerleap converters will convince it otherwise.

I also forgot to mention going to format my 160GB OS for pictures.
So its going to be like this:
320GB for OS $39.99
750GB for videos (own)
500GB for music (own)
160GB for pictures (own)
DVD RAM (own)
PCI sata card $29.99
Now on to choose a case and the adapters.

#59500GB for music is a lot too ... that'd fit over 800 hours of uncompressed 44kHz 16bit stereo (.wav), or 3700 hours at 320kbps, or 9300 at 128kbps
Even 320GB for the system partition seems overkill (unless you're going to install a lot of games or large programs), but 750GB for videos makes more sense ____________________ |

500GB for music, music videos and concerts

It includes pictures and other "mature" content including video.
