 | | Daily Cycle II ~ 3224 | Originally posted by Dwedit So we have two websites making money off ads presented next to stolen content.
In one corner, we have the infamous and despised Ebaumsworld.com, and in the other corner, we have Youtube. Both websites host many many stolen videos, usually submitted by someone not connected in any way with the video. Both websites brand their name onto the hosted videos, and make users think that their site created the videos.
So how exactly is Youtube any different from the schmucks at Ebaumsworld?
YouTube makes no claim to the content that is uploaded. You are going from an organization that does this for profit, Ebaumsworld, and a bunch of unconnected users uploading various content, YouTube users.
YouTube's staff isn't going around, uploading everything they can find, chopping the copyright information off, and claiming they made it. The users are.
Everybody hates Ebaumsworld, and when I see a user posting stolen content on YouTube, there's often people scolding them for it too.
A. The content on the YouTube Website, except all User Submissions (as defined below), including without limitation, the text, software, scripts, graphics, photos, sounds, music, videos, interactive features and the like ("Content") and the trademarks, service marks and logos contained therein ("Marks"), are owned by or licensed to YouTube, subject to copyright and other intellectual property rights under the law
Compare this to EbaumsWorld, which is widely known for stealing, maiming, and removing any and all refrences to the original creator.
I'm sorry, but it appears you have lost. Please insert a coin and try again.
