The Magic of Scheherazade seemed easier than Arabian Dream Scheherazade. I never got far in the latter, but the first random battle I got into seemed completely unwinnable. You'd probably have to level grind with the minor overworld enemies for quite a while before you'd even stand a chance. I never had that problem in TMoS
Yeah, there's some differences.
Originally posted by HG101 article The Japanese version of the game is drastically different than the American release. The music is much more simplistic, and the character sprites have enormous eyes. The sprite art is more along the lines of Kung-Fu Heros, another game that Culture Brain released. The overworld has also been changed dramatically. The Japanese version's overland is much more complex, containing pathways and caverns not present in the American version. In addition, the monster sprites were changed between the two versions. In some cases the monsters in the Japanese version look fairly frightening, and at other times they look goofy. The sprites in the American version have been changed to look more consistent. Finally, the interface of the game is different, with character speech appearing on the bottom right side of the screen rather than interrupting the game as in the American version. Aside from the speech, the American version is superior in every way to the Japanese release.
