Sitting in the dark, I stare at my computer screen, pondering whether I should use this time to break out of my pattern of lurking and write, for the first time in many months, a new post in the forums. I had constantly believed that one post should be enough to convince me to stay and blend back in to the community which I have watched thus far. As I sit here in my chair, I try to gather up my courage, think of appropriate words to express my thoughts, and send them to the site where others I know would read them. Nevertheless, my personal flaw of shyness continues to eat at me from within, and I once again struggle to click the "Submit reply" button. As the first day of the new year draws closer to the end, my mind has become determined to change it's habitual reclusiveness and send this reply out to others to read, knowing that there is no way to go back and change my decision.

I finish gathering my courage and click the "Submit reply" button.

I have found it odd that I tend to find better people online than I do in real life. That is not to say that I do not have real friends, but I have several friends who I have never met or who I very rarely see that I get along with very well.

There ... I made myself a mini chinese dictionary with the one-stroke radicals using flashcards. I'll write down the two-stroke ones when I finish learning these ones

I've heard that Chinese is a very difficult language for a Westerner to learn. I had enough trouble with German, myself, and that at least uses a familiar alphabet
