Yup.

It does say that some sort of conditions will be imposed on the deal, but that they aren't public yet...

I've gradually moved more and more against this deal the more I hear about it, so this isn't particularly good news I guess- but on the other hand, it's not at all surprising either.

Comcast buying NBC Universal? What's next, Comcast buying Clear Channel? Probably likely, as NBC might want to get back into radio or something... although Comcast owning radio stations in markets with Time Warner Cable would be rather weird

Anyone think this might result in a Chapter 11 for Comcast?

They should all merge together into one megacorp called "TELEVISION AND INTERNET SUPPLIER" and go out of business.

Why would they stop there, MM88? I wouldn't be surprised if we had everything made by "Everything, Inc." eventually

Well Comcast can just solve that by buying Time Warner Cable, of course.

Don't they do that regardless of whatever's going on/it is?

I don't mean to politically jab, but it's all I seem to hear when someone mentions Republicans. o.o

And now it seems the merger will close next Friday.

Though, I had forgotten that GE was keeping 49% of the company; I had thought they were getting out entirely.
