Yeah, for some reason it's been happening just frequently enough for me to consider it annoying. I kept meaning to tell you but then I got ADD about it.

I've been told repeatedly, rest assured

Nothing too unusual yet, but I'm keeping an eye on it just in case. Looks kind of odd to see a huge bunch of them at once, though. How odd.

A small discovery from... New Super Mario Bros. Wii? I took a peek at one of the models (thanks Techokami!) and found these:

Unused Big Urchin (UnizoBig) textures! They follow the same format as Urchin's textures (separate body/eyes for animation) but Big Urchin doesn't blink. Oh, and grumpy mouth. Neither texture works on the model because the UV map is made for the final texture.

Nice find!

I wanna put up a bunch of nice finds for Super Double Dragon, but the site has one of those "don't use our shit without our permission" deals, and since we're not greedy thieves, I sent an e-mail to ask about using stuff.

No response. Doubt there'll be one either.

If there's no response, I say we just default to "borrowing" the content. Not just because, well, how the hell are we supposed to do anything if the owner vanished, but if we can't even get a "no" out of them, who's to say the site's going to be up in a few years?

Put the stuff up and give full credit/link to the original site. That way, we're at least a step above X-Cult.

Right-O, then. I'll gank the images again and put it up sometime today.

I still have most of the wiki code on a text document, so it shouldn't take all that long to do.

EDIT: Done!

I honestly have no idea what's causing the current issues... either MediaWiki is taking too long to run or for some reason MySQL is being a bottleneck.

It's really hard to say either way.

You know performance has really gone down the shitter when even doing "ls" takes a second or two to display the damn directory (and it's not a big directory either, just about 10 entities)

In any case I did some stuff, punched some things, and restarted Apache again ... hopefully this will have some impact (it seems to have sped up the site a bit, at least) but ugh.

The weirdest thing is that these options are not exactly the ones I would imagine as being server-demolishing. If anything it should have helped to have tweaked them as they were -- slightly increased max servers and max clients -- due to the great increase in RAM.

Guess not! :specialed:

Honestly, given the number of times that I've heard nothing but "The server's down, and surprise, Sukasa's is too" I'm seriously tempted to ask for a partial refund. This is fucking horseshit.

I don't blame you one bit, I say go for it if it's being a piece of shit that's out of your control.

Be prepared for a potential fight though.

Another discoveries for NSMBW.

Know the big brick block, big_renga_block? Looks like it has models with some kind of countdown, displaying the numbers 1-4 (a different model for each number). You can probably guess how it would be used.

I'm not so sure about this one. Was it used in Peach's Castle, for buying videos with Star Coins?

I know this is a minor detail, but will the latest Featured Articles (F:NV, MM7 proto, LoZ proto) ever get their own writeups for the front page? Seems kinda silly making them featured articles, but then forgetting to add writeups so that the can actually be showcased on the main page.

Feeling like adding some infos about Super Mario Advance 4.

Added some GFX to unused "e-Reader" japanese menu :
http://tcrf.net/Super_Mario_Advance_4:_Super_Mario_Bros._3#Other_Unused_Text

With all translations that goes with it, by myself. (I know how to read japanese, but not kanjis, but i use a dictionary for translations)

Have you guys found a way to make it so that you can create a redirect without it making the old page into a redirect? It's getting irritating having to put in {{delete}} on the old page every time you move a page.

Mm. I remember there being a checkbox for not leaving a redirect behind, but it's gone, apparently. (my wiki still has it, running MediaWiki 1.15.5)

Why wouldn't you? Redirects are harmless.

I did a comparison of Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Mini-Land Mayhem against the E3 trailer, and found one difference. The background for the bonus mini-game is shown with an open sky and clouds and hills, similar to those found in the far background of the first level. However, all mini-games in the final game use the same sort of wooden room background. It's at the end of the video. I guess they decided the scenery was too distracting?

Edit: ...the internal music names are in Spanish?
