My middle name starts with K

I used to get confused with potassium being K and phosphorus being P on the periodic table. Similarly with sulfur (S) and sodium (Na).

Other ones like Au and Hg didn't really confuse me because there wasn't a common element that would make more sense with those letters. Cu/Co was a bit confusing, though.

In German the chemical elements have better names that make more sense.

What does not make sense, however, is the abbreviation of iodine. Everywhere in the world it's I, *except* in Germany. There, it's J. This creates a huge confusion when using foreign periodic tables.

I assume you're excluding H being "Wasserstoff". (Water stuff?)

I saw a periodic table in Germany and I still remember that, and also iodine being J. There was also a street sign that rendered Isenburger as Jsenburger.
