I never use the front page. I checked it out, looks OK. You can choose between all activity and subscription uploads, at least, but I just use the subscriptions page anyway.

It just seems like more crap to make it "social", but I'd really like clearly designated, possibly movable and resizable to some extent, areas for each thing, so you can put what you want where you want it. Oh wait, this is how the old page is, more or less, huh? So they're taking a somewhat customizable system and pretty much replacing it with a hard coded system with retarded behavior that tries to be like the Facebook home page. But wait, YOUTUBE ISN'T A SOCIAL NETWORK! At least not primarily. The ability to sort, organize, search and view videos should be the #1 thing, because that's what YouTube's primary purpose is; finding and watching videos, or providing videos for others to watch.

But no, it has to be marketable to the whole Facebook crowd. Maybe they should get their heads out of their asses and realize for a second that people don't use it because it's like Facebook; they have Facebook for that. I would bet that if YouTube just really kicked ass at cataloging and querying for videos in a nicely organized database, and had an actually organized interface that made some bit of sense, rather than try to duplicate stuff like Facebook, they'd get just as many users, and they'd have a decently good site.

You know, the sad thing is, YouTube, is more useful on most cell phone apps, like on Android or iPhone. I hope MiniTube gets developed more to provide more account specific functions like subscriptions, messaging, commenting, like, dislike, uploading, etc. I think the only way YouTube won't be horrible in a few years is if it's accessed through a shell of some kind.
