Also it seems like the meat sprites usually fill those memory spaces while inside dungeons, whereas the fish (or fishbone) sprites fill them when on the overworld. |

| That particular set of sprites showed up when I looked at the memory of a save state from the menu screen, fairly early in the game. They might get overwritten with other graphics when you progress and get more items. Sometimes the "fox" face takes the place of the small meat in memory when on the overworld. Other times, there's something else there that I can't identify. |

| It was a lot of fun working on this wiki. Wish I could have done more. Just thought I'd say that. |

| Sorry. I seem to have confused a lot of people last night (and not just here, either), and looking now at what I actually typed, that's not surprising. I didn't mean for that to come out sounding like, "It's been great, but I'm leaving now for no apparent reason", so much as I wanted to say, "Something has come up and I'm not sure if I can still be around for awhile, but I wanted to thank everyone for the fun I've had in case I don't make it back." Ugh, I hate being old. |

| Oh, that... That was actually from a few days ago and wasn't what triggered last night's events. My forum members have, for whatever reason, moved to the new board without any real protest, even though I told everyone the decision wasn't final yet. But nothing anyone said or did caused what happened last night. I've been trying to keep it under wraps as much as possible, but I've had a physical problem for several months now. Last night, I think I had some kind of "attack", but I lost my health insurance over a year ago when I was laid off from my job and I can't afford to get anything done about it now. Like I said, sucks to be old and sucks to be me. |

| Thanks, guys. I'm holding out hope that I can survive with whatever I have long enough for my health insurance to kick in at my new job. Could just be something stupid as a cyst or an ulcer, but I don't like what turns up when I Google the symptoms. Stupid internet. Anyway, I think this might be another Hidden Happy Face in Little Ninja Brothers (NES): ![]() Right in with all the battleground graphics, and I certainly don't remember it. But I haven't played the game in several years and my resident LNB expert hasn't gotten back to me on it yet for a confirmation. |

| My LNB expert doesn't recall it, either, but she said she might replay the game to be sure. Since I'm more familiar with Culture Brain's other NES RPG, The Magic of Scheherazade, I thought I'd take a peek through the ROM's graphics, and found these: ![]() That's either the most obscurely-hidden 1UP in video game history, or that's unused. ![]() I don't recall that snail... and it's in two different memory spots, though appears to be identical in both. Judging from where it's located in memory, along with the other menu-battle status afflictions, that's probably what it was meant to be - probably was supposed to be a spell that slowed down your characters and they'd turn into... that. Not unfitting, considering the other crazy things they can get turned into (cakes, hamburgers, rockets, mirrors, rocks, etc.) There are a few other weird things I don't quite recognize, but they might require a replay to be sure. For example, the cake status ailment has a frame of it smiling (which can be seen in that screencap next to the key near the top), but I don't remember that being used. The cake doesn't animate, as far as I know. Edit: ![]() Possible that the cake animates when Changarl turns you into one. Forgot that he could do that. My old screenshot doesn't really help much, though. I'll have to check into it. |

Hi everybody! I was playing Eternal Filena today - grinding out some new weapon skills when an enemy died and the game apparently kicked into its error handler. The translation patch notes said some development tools might kick in at times. I couldn't exit this screen but pressing any button caused the screen to flicker and update the value listed by PC. The text isn't translated so this is cavespeak. (Eternal Filena is, unfortunately, only partially translated.)![]() |

![]() ![]() This isn't something I'd post to the wiki, but I'm highly suspicious that the hammer may have had another purpose that was changed somewhere in development. First of all... it's on his friggin' head when you equip it! Secondly, I don't understand why using a hammer causes stars to fall from the sky. Someone once suggested to me (actually, the same person who is my LNB expert) that the hammer may have originally been intended to be used in tandem with the horn to "pound the horn into the statue", as the game tells you to do. But instead, you shoot the horn from your rod when it's used. We obviously can't prove that, but it seems to make sense. Edit: Abaxa's post went through while I was still typing up mine. Did you make a save state in that screen? |
