The Cutting Room Floor will now have a little more exposure...hopefully.

I know some of the people who run The Mega Man Network, and I made a video of the Mega Man X map editor and sent them the details, with a link to us. Hopefully they'll run it on their site!

EDIT: Publicity Granted

I've been working on a few pages for PC games, and I'd like to know what the appropriate size for PC game images are, since they usually aren't designed around a certain resolution.

Whatever the standard resolution is? I'd guess usually 800×600 or 1024×768. If you want to show something that really needs high resolution though, go for it.

For inline, probably 320w or so. Would have to play with it.

I was thinking 800x600 would work, since right now I'm doing preliminary work on pages for late 90s FPS games, and that was generally the standard monitor size back then.

Hmm... should the "Do you hate the 500 Internal Server Error messages?" box be changed, as the error page was rewritten and doesn't display that particular message?

Say, does anybody recognize the melody in this track? It's in the Yoshi's Story soundtrack, but I don't recall it being used. It sounds like the ending to a different game, but I can't remember which one.

500 articles! The splitting has done quite well, though I wonder if we technically should count any split page as a separate article though, since it's just an offshoot of a bigger article.

We probably shouldn't.

However, it should be rather easy to determine how many games we actually cover, by adding the contents of all the console categories.

Yeah, counting up the games covered makes more sense than the number of articles.

Can anybody identify that Yoshi's Story track? I'm going to add it, but I really think I've heard that melody from somewhere before. Does anyone else recognize it? I must note: the actual melody part loops (not the intro).

Was NSMBW originally going to have an Airship World? If so, could you please provide us a pic? If not, then someone could just create a drawing based on the concept art.

This was one of nearly a dozen concept art photographs shown after NSMBWii's release. Since it's merely a drawing, there's no telling how far they considered it. Obviously, we can't simply include every little idea that developers considered and ended up not using past concept art stage. And fanart of a fan's interpretation of an interpretation of a concept art image would be completely useless to us.

If there was going to be an Airship World, then the beta "Doomship Key" would have probably been found at the last Airship in that world, similar to how the Bowser Key is found at a world's castle. It would also make sense that Nintendo was planning to make a world that is taken over by Bowser Jr., since his father and siblings rule over other worlds themselves.

Hey, uh...any of you guys good at making animated GIF files?

I have an ungodly shitton of sprites of the SS guard in the Alpha and Final builds that I'd like to have animated, but I have no way of doing so. Anyone willing to take a stab at this?

I'll just e-mail or IM the files to you that I need animated if necessary, since there's quite a few.

Well uh, I have some old GIF animator from 1997 that sucks a lot, but it can produce decent GIF files, I guess.

If you want to, go for it.

I'm not so much looking for like, super-accurate fare, I'm just looking for something to compile a whole bunch of stills into so that I don't end up posting like, 120 images of the same dude.

Want me to send 'em your way still, Kassad?

UnFREEz is a pretty good and easy-to-use GIF animator.

Or if you want to make APNGs, Japng works nicely.

I could probably help put some stuff together if you need.

Jasc Animation Shop is pretty good, even going as far back to the version I use (3.0), if you don't mind acdquiring it.

Also, I would advise against using APNGs, at least until they are supported by more than just a couple of browsers. For our purposes (animating sprites with a limited palette), GIF is perfectly fine.

Apparently people have been getting ISEs again, so I'll be looking into that.
