I have 242 stars. This is supposed to be the maximum possible in the game, right? And now that I have done this, what else is there to do? Besides getting high times, that is. (And adversely affecting my death count of course, currently at 153 if I remember correctly--is that high or low?)
(Oh, and if I need to spoiler this post for any reason just say so and I'll do just that)

My most memorable SMG2 moment was June 8, 2009, which is when I first heard of SMG2 being confirmed and saw the E3 2009 trailer.

Without protons, then the world would just be made of neutrons (aka: nuclear radiation), which you can't see, and electrons (aka:electricity), which you can only see during certain circumstances.

My most memorable SMG2 moment was when I went to the launch celebration here in the UK.
My most memorable moment(s) would probably be every time I arrived at a new galaxy and I was filled with awe. Certainly one of the best games of all time.

Probably jumping into the Big Tree Slide for the first time. So awesome.

This and really tied SMG2 together, especially that second one. It's what I've been waiting for for awhile now.

Yeah... it was kinda too easy to progress through it. Wish they had made more stars required to beat the game.
I think they had it mostly planned for those that are somewhat new, but have beaten SMG1. My girlfriend never really played any Mario games and it was fairly difficult for her. She had a lot of trouble with Megahammer when she had to fight him. It kind of surprised me since I breezed through the game, but I guess it comes with experience.
It might not seem like a lot, but it's pretty much the same requirement as the previous 3D Mario games. My brother only collected one star in each galaxy as he played, so every time he reached a star block, he was short 5-10 and had to go back. It might be easier to progress in than SMG, but it's on par with Sunshine and 64.

I had the same exact thoughts about it. After the first star, though, I felt that there really wasn't anything Super Mario Galaxy 2 about it (It's also a ton harder to parkour it up). I would've been more satisfied with something to the same effect as Hightail Falls Galaxy: an original level paired up with an arranged classic theme.
