I joined from my parents' then-new XP computer, then switched to a 98 computer, then got a new XP computer.

I used Netscape at first, but a lot of Web sites in those days looked weird in anything but IE, so I switched to IE.

Netscape and AOL bring back old memories. Bad ones, too.

On my old computer back then, the copy of IE had to be avoided because it was so filled with spyware and toolbars and crap that no copy of AdAware or anything else I could find at the time... ah, the good old days of the internet

I used to use IE a lot more back then. Nowadays I avoid it as much as possible.

I remember when Internet Explorer was the only browser I was even aware of.

I remember hearing about Netscape pretty early... early enough that I remember sending away for a copy of Communicator 4 in the mail. (Might still have the CD, not sure)

I knew about Netscape and something called "Mosaic" long before IE, as we had Internet back in 1996 when IE wasn't so dominant.

I was never only aware of IE.

I've always known of it and Netscape... I guess partly due to using Macs primarily online for a while.

It was IE, AOL, Netscape and then the rest.

Netscape first but only because that was pretty much all there was. Still preferred it over IE on Windows 3.1 though.

I run Windows XP x64 on everything, despite the incompatibilities.

I used Netscape on Windows 3.1 before any real IE threat existed. I then went to Mozilla, and then to Seamonkey, and then to Firefox, and now onto trunk builds, at least until x64 Firefox becomes readily available.

I used IE since about Win98. Then I think last year, a friend recommended FireFox, which I still use on my Win7 machine.

I use FireFox and I love it. Tried other browsers but didn't like them.

I use IE because it loads quick, isn't a memory hog, and because I don't care enough about proper CSS support or "the fastest speed" when browsing. I want the information, not the presentation. That said, I do have other browsers, and I love Firebug.

loads quick, isn't a memory hog,

... quoi? It might be true for IE6, which indeed is fast and first choice if you need to look up something, but in my experience, any IE after that has always been slow. Or is it just me?

Maybe you're just spoiled with speed.
