Yes, finally, after two fucking years of working with this game, it is "done" and done is in quotes for a reason.

Until Keytastrophe, this hack has pretty much consumed 80% of my free time. It started as me being stupid and learning how to use the program, but after advice from Golden Yoshi (who I have to thank so damn much for all his help along the way, and beta testing absolutely everything) it turned into this.

Basically, this hack is done. Now, I use basically lightly. Extra 3 4 5 and 6 are incomplete, and that is it. Everything else is done, but I lost motivation for this hack. Big time. I call it complete though, because 1-1 to 6-8 is done.

There are probably still a plethora of minor glitches, but after playing through it six million times, there is nothing game breaking, except a part in 4-3 where you can't get 100 points. This happened because my Welcome level and 4-3 intertwined their data and corrupted each other - so I got to pick which one worked.

I am proud of how this turned out - I am proud to call it the second completed Yoshi's Island hack ever. To be honest, I don't care if anyone else is proud, because this is a personal achievement for me, and I'm quite happy to say so. For those who have been waiting years for this .. here is the link you have wanted:

Kamek's Revenge.ips

Features:

-54 or whatever brand spanking new levels, ranging from easy difficulty to pretty damn hard difficulty.
-Lengthly levels, ranging from 5 minutes to half an hour (there are plenty of mid-rings, but you can use save states I guess if you get stuck badly)
-The first Yoshi's Island hack to ever have ExGFX, so to speak. All the level icons are edited, and most sprites have slight GFX edits.
-Some slightly tweaked music, but again, that's another thing I lost motivation on.
-And more stuff which I don't remember.

So yeah .. enjoy what's here anyway. Please don't post glitches here, since this is the last time I'll be working with this hack. However, if there is something absolutely devastating that you absolutely CANNOT continue on, then I will fix it I guess.

Congrats S.N.N. on completing the second YI hack ever and on having the patience to hack almost every single level in it. YI's levels are in some cases longer and more complex then SMW so I don't blame you for losing motivation in the end (especially since you're working on Keytastrophe as well). I'll be sure to try it out

Well I know I'm going to try it out. But let me ask something...

When I PMed about errors in the game (during beta testing, of course) were the pleas heard or did they fall on deaf ears (as in, nothing was done in the game)?
I just don't want to feel like I was a waste.

Anything beta testers have sent me was fixed, but it depends on how long ago said person tested. If it was the mid-summer testing, only a few were fixed, but anything before that should be fine.

So, why aren't you going to work on the extra levels, as well as fixing the one 100% glitch? The game certainly wouldn't feel complete without those additions... Get your motivation back!

Fails to load in ZSNES... garbled block at the beginning then blank screen. Using Super Mario World 2 - Yoshi's Island (USA).sfc (also known as v1.0 by the GoodShit Tools)

edit: just remembered the classic problem of headered/headerless files. Prepending 512 bytes of 0x00 (before patching, of course), crashes ZSNES

This IPS patch has some issues. After adding a header (Which would not work with anyone in #rom-hacking doing it manually, we had to use SNESTool) which apparently doesn't still work right.

194400> <Disch> if you bump the filesize up [manually] to $208200 bytes it works fine

So bah to whatever the hell caused this. But even after SNESTool Header Add -> ROM and then IPS -> ROM, the size comes out 0x202000.

It should be 0x200200 with the header added

Basically, its going to have some issues with some emulators and such.

I have gotten lost amidst the confusion, so I most likely stated something wrong here, but in the end, manually adding bytes to make a header still screws it up before applying the patch.

I finally got it working as I said with SNESTool, but I'm putting it on my Wii as we speak.
