I fixed control panels for industrial hairdryers belonging to my neighbor. They looked okay, but some solder joints had cracked when the machines were knocked over.
Other than that, I haven't soldered anything in forever. ____________________ |

Paulguy's Post configuration Eh just some stuff in school.
I also tried to fix my M3 Perfect once, by replacing the internal battery with a 2 AA holder, on the hunch and likely false information that the battery dying makes it stop working. It's more likely crappy soldering job on the very delicate, fine BGA chips. Kinda disappointing for how much it costs, but it was a common problem. Cheap Chinese crap. It worked great otherwise when it worked, best flash cart out there back then and probably even now, but the build quality is dreadful. Of course, GOOD flash carts are out of vogue in preference of cheap crap that can only run pirated ROMs with any reliability or usefulness. Can you tell that the general attitude of the people left me a bit bitter? The DS was pretty neat and a nice handheld with the extra fast RAM and very fast disk access of the card that I had. ____________________ |

Rena I had one (1) message in Discord deleted and proceeded to make a huge, huge mess about how it was a violation of free speech and how moderators are supposed to be spam janitors and nobody should have the right to tell me not to talk about school shootings Level: 135 Posts: 3916/5390 EXP: 29076758 For next: 258247 Since: 07-22-07 Pronouns: he/him/whatever From: RSP Segment 6 Since last post: 342 days Last activity: 342 days |

12-01-10 10:10:45 PM Post #3916 It's amazing the nice, expensive things people will throw out when all they need is a single component replaced. 10 cents worth of parts and 5 minutes of soldering and you've got yourself a perfectly good TV or computer that someone just tossed away. ____________________ |

I'm really good at soldering. I haven't done any soldering in a while since I moved, though. ____________________ Tomorrow will be black and white, with a chance of grey. http://gametz.com/user/nensondubois.html <- my game collection. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wtvx8TBA5EM http://board.gscentral.org/forum.php Let's go back to the late 80's-1990's and forget that the 21st century ever happened for the sake of our gaming, music, and reasonably sane technology. I would buy a new Famicom, Virtual Boy, Super Nintendo or Game Boy/Colour game if Nintendo started production again. Star Fox 2 would be great. |
