Hmm.. Your problem is probably the following:

Do you see the 16x16 block grid the editor displays? The game NEVER scrolls into a block that is empty, which means, it doesnt contain objects. Even if it contains sprites, entrances, whatever.

Try checking for empty blocks, and put one object tileset 0, object 2 in each one (it's an invisible/transparent object which does nothing)

I hope this is the cause for your problem

I need help with Level 1-4
Always, when I edit it, an finished it, a random entrance dont works. Example: I go to Area 2 (underground area) and go to the overworld again, then the Screen is black.
Is this Problem normally? If it is, how can I fix it?

@ray I had that problem before too! It's because you set wrong entrance ID or area. Check for your entrance properties!

Err, I edited level 1-3, but I don't know why my Goombas sudden fall from the mushroom?

All my 3 Goombas fall from there (but it's too hard to capture at the right moment). I have one Koopa before, but it doesn't fall!

Note: They actually don't die, since they fall again when I turn back.

EDIT: Solved, I tried bring them up some more, and add object 2 (tile 0) under them!

@dirbaio:
Could you add a screenshot tool to the editor pls?
I mean, that I can highlight a place while editing the level and then click screenshot...(or something like that...)
It would be great, if you could add such a tool to the editor!

For some reason, the program seems like it's broken. I got my copy from SKJmin, so it may make a difference. Note that the archive was unused before I obtained it.

Whenever I press the "Edit Tileset" button, I get this error.

You usually shouldn't accept compiled editors from other people. Nobody knows what he has done to it, it might be broken, modified, whatever...

You can either download the latest version of the editor: http://code.google.com/p/nsmb-editor/ This one is guaranteed to work, but it lacks some new features.
Or, you can compile yourself the latest SVN revision (currently r130). That one should work, but sometimes its a bit broken. If something is broken, you can tell me and i'll fix it.

Anything else is not supported. I just can't know what revision SKJnim compiled, and whether he modified it or not so I can't fix it. You should just get everything from the official google code project page above.

He compiled rev 130 for me (as I don't have VS nor the space for it, LOL) and it gave me that error. I fixed it, though- he just passed me rev 94, which works like a charm and has everything I need. (everything I liked about my old release of 5.1 and rev 130)

Vines?

There's an object in tileset 0 that lets you put one in the level directly.
Alternatively you can use the vines coming out of ? blocks / bricks / invisible blocks.

I've never seen them crashing... What's the one you're trying to use?

He could've also messed up the sprite data by accident.

Continuation of my question from suggestion section...

I am starting with 1-1 area 1. The tileset for that has behaviors that make things able to walk on, or be kind of background. I get that. But, they also have slope to them that is hard to eliminate. So, the entire tileset is kind of tied to the level 1-1 area 1 detail. How do I edit 1-1-1 with a clean tileset that where I can assign the objects in the scrolling object menu?

I have tried to import an entire tileset from scratch, but it seems it is bound to the old level design. Meaning, trees are still trying to be trees, slopes are still trying to be slopes.

Quick question: How do you make a falling platform? It drops when Mario is standing on it, that's all I need to know.

Have you looked at the value of the tile you are using?
A tile that is solid has the value "00 00 01 00"
While a tile with a slant that goes to the right has the value "01 00 20 00"

Make sure your tiles have the right behavior values.
