Guess that's the end of people telling citizens to beware via colors.

About time they dismantled that system--it was useless.

And now the late-night comedians have lost another convenient target to make fun of...

I don't really know if the system ever made sense at all, I mean for one thing there were too many levels... but once you cut it down to the basics you get "we think a terrorist attack is likely" and "we don't know anything about a potential attack, but terrorists are sneaky so who knows", and a two-level system is hardly a system at all...

I think the most major flaw with the color-coded system is that the orange and yellow look the same.

Maybe it's just me (and everyone else without normal color vision).

Finally. Hopefully other "anti-terrorism security" stuff will go away too.

Was the threat level ever at blue or green, anyway?

The image in the article is a particularly bad example, I don't think I have any problems with my color vision and I can only see the slightest of differences in that particular version...

I never really paid attention to that threat system, actually... I always went with the 2-level system anyway (peace and war, safe and unsafe, whatever)

oh goodie! Now at least we won't have to worry about not knowing what to do when they declare an airport plane high-jacking a colored orange threat.

Let's go back to the late 80's-1990's and forget that the 21st century ever happened for the sake of our gaming, music, and reasonably sane technology.
