I remember iCab for Mac 68K as late as 2006... as a matter of a fact, it was the very last browser ever made for 68K Macintosh computers. =P

When did 68k Macs exist?

All I remember is just using a Mac for educational purposes as far back as first grade. o.o

January 1984 (original 128K) to October 1996 (the last 68K Mac model was a PowerBook of some kind, I believe) =D

Internet archive has a nice archive of bad movies, too. :p

My first web browser was like, AOL 2.5 browser, then 3.0, then IE5, IE5.01, IE5.5, Firebird, Firefox, Opera, Firefox, Opera, Midori, Opera. I still use Firefox for some picky sites.

For mobile browsers, Mobilesafari -> Android web browser.

Internet archive also has carried speed runs for a long time. I used to watch the N64/PS1/other ones there before TASVideos supported them.

I know there's more, but I've been too lazy to explore it.

I tend to regularly emulate the 68k series of Macs.

I think my elementary school had some... and some early PowerPC ones as well. I also remember a couple AIO G3s and iMac G3s... thought the latter were mostly at the middle school. As far as I know, they were still in use in 2005.

Almost. IE 5.0 was available for Windows 3.1.

That's really scary because we only have IE6 at work on the XP PC's.

There were several versions of IE between 5 and 6.

I used an Apple ][e in Kindergarten to play Oregon Trail.

That's a little older than 68k, I would say.

A lot of the internet nostalgia about Oregon Trail seems to be from the Apple ][ version, but my school had the Windows... Close enough, I suppose. (you could still die of dysentery, which is the important part)

Someone posted an old version of the Microsoft website that's not even on the Internet Archive.

It said "if your browser does not support images, we have a text version as well."

When did browsers not support images?

I think those were running 6502s.

I don't have too many overly fond memories of the Apple ][, but I don't remember loathing the things either.

Yes, I think all the Apple II's used 6502 except for the Apple IIgs, which used the 65816 (like the SNES)...

I seem to remember using an Apple ][ in Kindergarten, but they replaced all the computers the next year so I don't remember things that far back very well...

I wonder why the IIgs was there when the Macintosh was taking off... huh. The ][s my elementary school had stayed there into 200t, as far as I know.

I also wonder if anyone remembers the Apple III...

I grew up on an Apple 2 when I was little. Spent a lot of time messing around on that around 3-5. After that one of my later schools had Apple 2s for the younger grades, but they also had some PowerPC Macs for the older students. Probably so we wouldn't break the expensive new (For the time.) machines. Didn't really matter, though, we mostly just played typing games and stuff so we didn't really need anything much better.

I remember Apple IIs and early Macs in elementary school... by the time I started middle school (in a different district), the machines all ran Windows 3.1 and 95 instead. =)

Lots of people also had images disabled in their browser in the early days. You know, slow modem connections, lots of data...

I often had images disabled on dialup. I got so annoyed at the trend towards glitzier, slower pages, as I was stuck on a 1990s-quality connection until mid-2005.

I never had mine disabled but then again I was on a sleek 56k connection. Geez, remember when THAT was high-speed and "high-bandwidth" links were really just the same page with a background and pictures?
