I do that all the time. Works with gravel, too, and if you're fast (or just dig with a torch...) you can place one before it finishes falling to pop them all at the same time.

Oh shit, you guys play minecraft too? I need to get my save from my friends house, or make a video of it. I recreated Middle Earth on a much smaller scale (distance apart) but I created many of the various structures in a close spot. Helm's Deep and Isengard was amazing.

This is mostly for those of you on Sukasa's server, although anyone with multiplayer experience is welcome.

Have you ever had chunks revert to a previously-saved version, undoing all the work in that chunk? It's been coming up on my server quite a bit and it's pissing us all off.

You have a server? I guess I shouldn't be so surprised...

Anyway, the server sucks, especially if it crashes (read: shuts down). Use /save-all often to force a save, but even then...

Yeah, it sucks. Sometimes I got my server eat up 100% of the CPU and not responding at all for no reason, sometimes it just shuts down.

I'm using this little script in my server. It makes a backup each hour, and also makes the server save-all before backup, which is cool. If you modify it you can get it to save-all regularly without backups too.

Ironically, when that one unexpected shutdown thanks to Me happened, no chunks got corrupted or rollbacked... Starting to wonder how exactly it saves.

You could probably do this server-side, but I could make the bot send /save-all every 30 minutes or so.

The fixed multiplayer is actually pretty fun. Having to build stuff while risking your life and fighting off monsters with friends is exactly what I've been waiting for.

As a side note: beta should be just around the corner (probably around Christmas at the earliest, and early next year at the latest)

So, we got some new plugins. There's one that lets you do cool stuff with redstone, and one that makes minecarts actually fun!

I was a bit disappointed at first that it isn't real survival at first, but the boosters and stuff is pretty rare (i.e. a whole gold block), so it's okay.
Survival is actually more fun then I thought!

When we're back to creative, though, I'm going to play a lot with the redstone/bridge/stuff plugin.
