I'm trying to beat a 7x7 puzzle of Lights Out.

It's hard as fuck and I've got myself stuck in one of those situations where it's nearly impossible to dig yourself out.

If I knew maths and algorithms, I'd be outta this pickle in no time.

Random bitching, but I hate how I get myself in situations like this with no clue how to solve things. With anything. Grargh.

Replace "Lights Out 7x7" with "Vector Calculus" and you have my situation.

Joy.

Hey, I remember Lights Out.

I had a handheld version of it, anyway. It was only 5*5 though.

There are lights out-like puzzles in a lot of the puzzle games I play.
Actually kind of fun, to me.

I did too, Terra. Actually, it's still over my mom's house. I should go over and get it.

Anyway, the game in question is Tacoyaki+ at http://www.gamedesign.jp. Fun games, but many can be devilishly hard.

If Lights Out is what I'm thinking of, then I had an 8*8 when I was 9 maybe.

And solved the crap out of it.

I had a hand held 5x5 one back in '96. I have no idea where it is now though. It probably got thrown out years ago Now I kind of want to play it.

Yeah, that's the one. I'm still trying to clear that 7 x 7 one.

I can clear out everything up to the bottom row, and then I just keep doing the same things over and over and it won't clear out, I don't get it.

Help plz? ;-;

I should look for a version for the DS, sometime.

That's the year I got mine. Were the lights pink? Maybe we got the same model

Mine's probably buried somewhere in a box in Michigan by now.

I'm pretty sure I've got mine somewhere, actually... just needs batteries, I bet.

I remember kicking ass at it on the game.com, though.

There's some kind of algorithm thingy that I've loosely figured out for 5 x 5. 6 x 6 is now hit or miss, but I've tended to get it eventually more often than not with a modified version of the 5 x 5.

Edit: HAHA! I GOT LUCKY AND DID THE 7 x 7!!! *Dance*

Yeah the lights were pink and the rest was silver gray. It probably was the same model. I seem to remember them being pretty common at that time.
