I got my Mew. Sort of.

I'm in Cianwood, though, training to fight Chuck, so I can't pick it up yet.

Team:

Aster/Clefairy (M), Lv22. Pound/Charge Beam/Fire Blast/Moonlight. Believed to be a pyromaniac due to an incident south of Goldenrod.
Spinny/Spinarak (F), Lv23. Poison Sting/Shadow Sneak/Scary Face/Fury Swipes, holding Everstone. I like Spinarak. Grows quickly thanks to being traded from my cousin's game (she actually caught it just for me!)
Gauss/Magnemite, Lv24. Flash Cannon/Sonicboom/Thundershock/Thunder Wave. The generic guy.
Borea/Shellder (F), Lv22. Surf/Protect/Supersonic/Icicle Spear. Skill Link ability makes Icicle Fall Spear not entirely suck, as it always hits five times.
Shard/Togetic (M), Lv23. Rock Smash/Yawn/Extrasensory/Metronome. I like to start with Metronome just for the laughs. Sometimes "holy shit" laughs, sometimes "oh you idiot" laughs.
Esper/Espeon (F), Lv23. Shadow Ball/Tackle/Quick Attack/Sand Attack. Yes, my Psychic is my Ghost attacker and my Flying-type is my Psychic attacker.

As I was spending the weekend at my moms place, I managed to snag the mew!

I love getting the guy but... I'm unsure what to do with him/her (lol genderless) as leveling it up for battling other people would be a waste. (Mew is in OP tier IIRC)

I guess I should transfer it to white once I get that and use it him/her there... hmmm.... :o

Yay I just got my Mew! I thought I was going to miss it, I couldn't find any WEP router around here, but I finally got lucky, yay!

Now to go get Lugia .... I'm not looking forward to getting lost and spending hours in those caves (but I refuse to cheat and use a guide)

Lugia's dungeon (I assume you play HG) is not how I recall it being in the original. :o

I recall it to very long and confusing, when I did it in HG it was extremely short. :<

I thought Whirpool Islands were pretty much the same.

I visited them before to level up my other team... I think before challenging the Elite 4 or going off to Kanto.

Either way it's a ridiculously easy dungeon. You have to give it some cretit though for it having quite a variety of pokemon instead. (Though it's countered by the tentacool outside the caves, Beldum leveled up like crazy there...)

The problem is the dissonance of having lv 30 or something enemies while having a lv 70 boss.
I think I'll leave returning to it for after fighting Blue...

Also no progress here yet... I did get the Mew card. (I had no more space though, so I did the stupid thing of deleting the JIRACHI card, of all things... I panicked and immediatelly rushed to see if it was still there.)
I don't really care about Mew actually... I don't even see myself training one for battling. I guess I could trade it for something else later...

I don't have the game but I do recall the Whirlpool Islands being short, and Mew isn't really that good for tournaments, mostly due to being banned from many tiers and being a bit low among ubers.

Yeah, I thought they were going to be more difficult. And although I did get lost a bit, it didn't take me long to find the correct path and after I did, it was extremely easy to get to Lugia. :/

Oh well ... I think I might train my Mew now

I remember having such a hard time with it as a kid though. :o

Then again... gold was the game I played the least in series...

(I got it very late and soon ruby came out and I just played that instead.)

I got all the Kanto badges now.

That battle against Blue was one of the most amazing fights I ever had. I don't exactly remember what did I send against what, but it all was my pokémon holding off with 1-10 hp and KOing the opponent. We had the same levels, too.

It even froze Golem with whatever it used, which immediately unfroze. Noctowl actually didn't get hit at all, while Togetic fainted. Rhyhorn used Drill Peck against Bayleef who survived and countered with Solarbeam.

He saved Pidgeot for the end (even after switching Arcanine), which actually gave a tough time to Glaceon. Icy Wind lowering its speed though gave me victory.

Oh yeah, I didn't post about getting completelly destroyed by Lance's Level 75 Dragonite...

Silver is at 50-60, I am at 50-60, Clair is 50-60... Why the hell is there a level 75 Dragonite?!

But anyways, I said it was awesome. I don't care about the Elite 4 yet. (Besides, the only thing I need to beat Lance is Glaceon learning Blizzard. I could teach it Ice Beam but... the TM is a pain to get.)


Right now I'll make the rest of my team learn the moves they need and explore around with Rock Climb (and look for the other two birds and capture Lugia). Rematch the Gym Leaders as well (I can actually fight Pryce right away).

Zigzagoon was this for me in gen 3...though I don't think it can learn flash, it gets just about everything else. Not to mention it has pick-up. Never before has an HM slave actually been useful outside of...well, HM slaving!
