| Similar to protection against burglars, any password does not grant full protection and can be broken at any time. It just needs time. But with a long and secure enough password, you can make it more complicated/time-consuming for intruders at least.
So that neat little program will need more time with a 12+ character word, including special characters, not being in dictionaries though. One more secure way might be something like an USB stick, which you need to dock on your machine to be able to log in (like, putting some vital user files onto the stick, and similar ...), and combining this with another password. And although that program might be good for retrieval of forgotten passwords, most users use very unsafe and easy passwords like "password" or "sex" .. |

| Old news. Plus I personally prefer using ntpasswd and simply blanking the admin password when I need to get in (yes there are legitimate reasons; some people seem to think the world is perfect and you always get passwords when handed a previously-used machine). |
