This blog posting gave me the inspiration for this thread...

Anyways, I've seen some weird brands before... one of my TV remotes came with "Camelion" batteries which are actually still working even 2 years after their expiration. Also, "Dynacell" (which looks like Energizer but has a similar name to Duracell) is something I commonly see in dollar stores around here =P

Any unusual brands you've ever seen? =P

There's the electronics company "Coby" which is found in drugstores across America (Well, I assume across America, but really I can only vouch for a few CVS's on the East Coast ) whose logo looks like it's trying to look like the Sony logo (They made my current TV, which works well enough actually)

Dynex. They make incredibly bad power supplies.

That reminds me... I sometimes see electronics products with the "Zenex" brand in AJ Wright and other similar stores. The batteries that leaked in my radio were "Electrix" brand, a cheap store brand... now I know not to buy that brand =/

I had a really funny picture I took in Johannesburg, Africa of a Panimals, a knockoff of Danimals yogurt, but it's long gone since my mom dropped my HDD

Ah, yes, their only good game...

And their only game with a likable soundtrack

Too many to list. :\ All you need to do is go to Hart's (a local discount department store) and you'll find SEVERAL, ranging from food to electronics. I buy none of them.

The Not-So-Nintendo Vii; China's cheap alternative to the Wii. On the upside, it played Wii games. On the downside, it looked like crap.

It's not really a knock-off brand, but the legality of this endorsement seems questionable to say the least. I bought that recently while shopping for fireworks for Diwali

X-Kim.

Their stuff is surprisingly high quality for the cost. A $9.99 gamepad not only outdoes a Logitech Dual Action in features, but its d-pad is superior and I haven't started to have trouble with it yet like Logitech controllers tend to after a while.

They make other stuff, too, but I don't have any of it.

On a similar note, I remember hearing of a Wii knockoff (which I think was actually based off of an NES-on-a-chip) called the Wü.

You don't realize how tempting it is to link Ashens's review of it here :V

Taking a quick look online... China are the masters. No doubt about that.

Still wouldn't touch those batteries.

Would you be able to tell the difference between 任天堂 and 往夫堂?

I can't even tell what they say to begin with, honestly. It's still pretty damn hilarious to see such weird butcherings, though...

I have to say, if a company in the US decided to use 任天堂 to make people think it was connected to 往夫堂, I would have no problem with Chinese people laughing at that...
