He practically trained Inti Creates to make the games how he wants them though, unlike Sonic with that dude, he made sure Capcom wouldn't fuck up Megaman like Sega did with Sonic.

I guess that's true; Inti Creates has done a good job with Mega Man so I would think the series won't crash and burn without him. He won't be around to see Legends 3 to completion though...

This one's gonna hurt Capcom. Don't know if it'll be short-term or long-term, but Inafune's one of the more respected guys in the industry and if he ends up anywhere else then said company/project gets a boost.

Yes, Naoto Ohshima didn't do anything to prevent them from flying completely off the rails, whereas Megaman is so established now that they'd have to be intentionally suicidal to fly off of the rails now.

They could do something really weird and make it so you get to choose one of 3 elements and make bosses weak to your normal attacks as long as you're using the proper element.

Oh, wait...

The thing that would kill Megaman is if they keep making games that are practically identical, just with dumber and dumber robot masters. They were doing a good job of it on the NES, and you'll note what they did first on SNES.

I remember Nintendo Power even having a contest for submitting designs before on one of the NES games >.>
