I went bargain bin diving and nearly had a heart attack over at GameStop/EB Games/what have you. Whereas everyone is waiting for Halo 3 coming out tonight, I snagged 4 games for under 40 bucks and walked away not feeling bad about it.

Oh and we had a conversation about CAD's latest comic. Someone printed it off and stuck it on the window at the EB Games there. Yes, Anya, the joke circulated rather well...even in Arkansas...

Devil May Cry
Devil May Cry 2
Soul Caliber 3
Virtua Fighter 4 EVO

39-something dollars.

Anyone got similar shocks in bargain bin diving? I've found some really good deals at points.

That's not too bad. YMMV, as I myself consider Devil May Cry 1 the worst game of all time.

But I've been looking for Soul Calibur 3. Kept passing it up, and now it's not so easy to find...

Yeah, I had some great deals before. JPN Pokemon Silver, JPN Kirby & the Amazing Mirror, Super Castlevania IV (read my other thread to find out how damn rare it is locally!), Mega Man X 1, etc. Also games given to me like The Darkness and Just Cause for 360.

There was this one time where I got Star Wars: Battlefront and Marvel vs Capcom 2, though. It was about $15-$17.

I've never even seen a bargain bin at my local GameStop... occasionally they have sales, but the furthest markdown I've seen is $5.00... (on a tangentially related note, all the EB Games around here were re-branded GameStop- is this a national thing?)

Heck, they had Dynasty Warriors lined in it. I think I saw Unlimited Saga lying in there for 5 bucks.

Arkansas isn't the best place to get smart people with vid games. About the same as Louisiana not knowing what they have in terms of guns and related (true story here from father and his boss/friend). Just got to know where to look for this stuff.

The best thing I've gotten out of the bargain bin was Super Metroid. ^___^ Though it was expensive. Somewhere like $20-$30 used. But oh well, it lead to much happiness and glitch exploitation.

Of course now i have its ROM so the cartridge is for just having it. But it's one game I'm happy to have a cart of.

I can easily relate. Since it's damn difficult to find good deals around here.

Although, I did manage to get RE4 and Tales of Symphonia for $20 each.

Damn good finds, Hiryuu.

I've had horrible luck in bargain-bin hunting but I've never checked EB here. See, at places like Future Shop, they will toss almost EVERY CRAPPY GAME in existance into the bin for $15 a pop or so. Good luck finding any RPG's or decent games. And seriously, some of the GBA/DS games they toss in are hilariously bad. I'm not paying $15 for frigging Ping Pals in the bargain bin.

...of course, if I ever found a good bargain bin, it might be worth investing in a PS2. Especially if I can never obtain a Wii.

And someone mentioned Marvel Vs Capsom 2...cheap!?! Holy crap you got lucky. The game goes for $80 used now and we had two copies a few weeks ago and sold them both.

There's no doubt that the Dreamcast version is the best, bu so many people still look for the Ps2 version and at times, the Xbox version. You know, they really should just throw that came on XBL and charge a shit load for it...and people will buy it.
