Nobody cares.
MySpace was always bad, and died ages ago. The rebranding as a "social music site" didn't help them much, either; not when there are already better social music sites (Last.fm, Ping) and better ways for musicians to get their work out there (Bandcamp, iTunes [even though I don't like it much, it's certainly better than fucking MySpace]).

Heh heh heh. About time. I'm waiting for this to happen to Facebook too, some day.

Yeah, redefine the web my foot.

MySpace is like the social networking equivalent of those old poorly-designed homepages with little content and lots of weird fonts and anigifs. Also, ugh at autoplaying music.

I don't use Facebook, but at least it doesn't have the design issues.

I used MySpace for a bit and then it came to the point that I just don't care anymore.

I have to give them some credit, the my____ logo is kind of interesting, in a "that's interesting enough to post that it's kind of interesting, but not actually visit the site or anything" sort of way...

But yeah, it really shows how little being on top can matter.

Exactly one year ago yesterday, to be precise.

I guess this kinda makes sense, cause the only people I know actually use MySpace now are the ones who look for music off of it. Other than that it's basically dead as a social networking medium.

1. Open up MySpace music page
2. Turn on Wavepad or another sound recorder
3. Record and play
4. Free music

Myspace was never really that good... I use facebook though, just to keep up with my friends who won't download an instant messenger.

And Tetris Battle. I enjoy defeating Facebook users at 6P Tetris.

MySpace and Facebook are kind of one in the same to me. Doesn't help that I never used either.

It just never ceases to amuse me how many uber-popular sites become a mere flash in the pan.

In other words it was the 1995 of social networking.

That's just how pop culture usually works... The internet just makes things happen faster, perhaps.

I don't really get just how all this social networking stuff in general is so popular. It's just an e-penis thing, with how many friends you have, no matter if you have ever spoken to or met them in real life or not, isn't it? For staying in contact with real friends, there's phones, mail and messengers - or simply visiting them or something!

...well, okay, I do have an account on a German social network site and a blog at LiveJournal, but I log into the first one maybe once in 6 months, and the latter gets one or two short posts per week, if even that.

Eh, I can see some utility in it, it is easy to plan things over it and such... but I think it's rather overblown for what use there is. I can see Facebook being around in five years, but I think people will have a more reasonable view of it rather than the current craziness...
