My parents always got a real tree, although they had several fake trees too for the forest effect Or, more commonly, to have trees in different places.

I stopped trick-or-treating when I was 13. I'm fine if you go older, but please wear a damn costume Also, don't try to keep hitting the same house over and over.

Traditionally, it was meant to ritually invert the tendency to hide children from strangers and not be allowed to scare them.

Therefore it is fine as long as the people who are old wearing costumes contribute to the ritual act of scaring children and giving stranger's children candy. :p

My dad used to go trick-or-treating with me. He would be dressed as a soldier with his battle re-enactment clothes.

Rarely, he actually got candy

I never went trick-or-treating, mainly because it never interested me. Halloween isn't something I celebrate. I just merely acknowledge it's existance and thank it for the week off it gives me

Apparently there is an article about this on Yahoo. It says that some people are trying to ban teenagers from trick-or-treating. I can see people not wanting a bunch of rowdy 16-somethings coming to their door. But trying to make it a national legal ban is too far. What if a teenager is out with their younger sibling taking them around? If you don't want teenagers, just post a sign.

According to my mother, 13. Been sitting bored on Halloween for five years now, soon six. I miss going out.

And disallowing teenagers sounds stupid, in my opinion. (At least, if they have a costume on.)

Me, I've never even had a day off for Halloween except when it was on Saturday or Sunday

Zero One, that's kind of like Easter for me. I used to celebrate it with bunnies and egg decorating and whatnot, but I grew out of that and what's left for adults is mostly the religious stuff. But many schools give time off for it
