I'm sure we all have at least one item of food that is no longer in production, and we would love to see it again on store shelves.

Here's mine:
Jiff Berry Peanut Butter
Coke Black
Oreo's Coffee
cheddar Triscuts
Cheddar Bachman pretzels
Pizza Lunchables tacos
Nintendo Game Boy Bubble Gum
Campbell's Gold Label Mushroom
Recces Peanut-butter cups Inside-out

and while these are not strictly a discontinued items, I'd like to see them in retail stores:

Peanut butter square packets made by PB & Js
space free-dried ice cream... wish they would sell this in stores, not just science museums!

What are your favorite discontinued and or limited retail food products that hopefully will be in general retail stores?

Yeah, I know I spelled discontinued wrong ;p

Jalapeno Fritos!

Damn they were good.

Also, McDonald's used to have large fruit & yogurt parfaits, not just these tiny-ass $1 ones. Back when they did have htem, I couldn't hope to finish one... and now that I could, they don't. Damn it.

Not sure if this counts, but the classic nachos at Chili's were far better than the successor types. (I remember for awhile you could get them if you asked for them even though they weren't on the menu, but the last time I was at Chili's you couldn't even do that)

* Diet Coke Lime - do they still make this? haven't seen that in a few months around here... or is it a seasonal flavor? =/
* Diet Coke Black Cherry Vanilla - around for less than a year, and then it was gone
* Fruitopia - my favorite drink back in the mid-late 1990s... used to love to drink this while playing Final Fantasy VII =)

If I can think of anything else, I'll make sure to put it down =P

Throwback Pepsi and Mountain Dew

God I wish they stayed as a better, more expensive option. They taste so much less crappy. But I guess that would be admitting that they know high fructose corn syrup tastes like shit compared to sugar, which would hurt their image.

Agreed.

It's not food but I miss Vanilla Coke and Pepsi Jazz too. (yes I'm picky in that I loathe calling something to drink food)

...Fuck, I just nostalgia'd hard. All three of those were fucking awesome sodas.

As for me, I miss Diet Vanilla Coke. I once heard that they also had Vanilla Coke Zero for a while, but it seems I missed that as well.

Crispy M&M's

Also, some brand of rice cakes that were sold in the Buffalo area, then vanished one day. I remember us getting the last 3 at a farther-away supermarket. They never had anything similar again, either.

Hm, well on the other hand they switched over Sierra Mist from HFCS to sugar, apparently permanently... so they seem to think there's some demand for sugar-based sodas.

Honestly I haven't been able to tell the difference

Remember back when Kudos bars actually came covered in chocolate? That was neat. I can't find any like that anymore. They had some with peanut butter inside. It was like a Reese's Fast Break or whatever it's called, except it didn't melt instantly like the latter tends to do for me.

Pretty sure they still make Diet Coke with lime, as its one of the only sodas my dad tends to keep in the house for himself, and I remember drinking it not even maybe a year ago. Good stuff though. I didn't know Vanilla coke was discontinued, I could have sworn I just saw it at the grocery store earlier today. What I want to know is what the hell happened to my Mountain Dew Code Red? I quite literally can't find it anywhere. Did they discontinue that shit? Because regular Mountain Dew just doesn't dew it for me--*shot*

oh and I miss Sprite Remix. Yeah. Oh and speaking of discontinued foods, I don't know if they are discontinued but sure as fuck obscure are these....fudgey Keebler cookies that were literally just like...a chocolate orgasm. They seem to have disappeared around a year ago and I miss them ever so. There was another cookie that was around when I was very little. Tiny little bite sized ones filled with chocolate, similar to those Koala's March snacks of Japanese fame (but if memory serves me correct, even BETTER) They came in a little box, not unlike those you'd get Ritz Bits or Teddy Grahams. I cannot remember the name for the life of me. Just...plain little circular cookies with a chocolate filling. I almost want to say the packaging was like...a deep teal, blue-ish green color, though I could be wrong. They were phenomenal, and I was probably only maybe four years old the last time I remember having them. Damn.

Are you talking about Sweet Spots? They were plain round vanilla cookies that had something like a Hershey's kiss in the center, only the chocolate was way better.

As for food that I miss, there are plenty of foods that I loved as a kid that they no longer make, but there's nothing I can think of off hand that I REALLY miss. I mean, if they came out on the market again, I'd buy them in a heartbeat for the sake of nostalgia, but I doubt I'd like any of them now as much as I did as a kid. These things include, Sweet Spots, Fun Feast tv dinners, Orange Squeeze-its (none of that kool-aid crap), Hearty Pockets, and Pizza Lunchables. I'd also try Crystal Pepsi if they ever brought it back just because my curiosity has recently been piqued.

Also, for everybody who misses any type of vanilla flavored soda, just buy the closest thing you can get on the market and add a little imitation vanilla extract to it. 90% of the time, it tastes exactly the same.

More expensive option... no. Making it public would be a good idea and I'm in direct favor to eliminate the usage of high fructose corn syrup.

Oh no, though Sweet Spots were fucking awesome. This was like almost like a Vanilla Wafer in appearance, but much smaller, and with a chocolate filling

Clear Pepsi and the blue Diet Mountain Dew (I can't remember the name). I really liked that stuff, I wish it would have persisted instead of ending last year. It was the only other flavor for diet besides Code Red. Thank God that's still around.

That reminds me... There was a blue berry Pepsi that ended around 4 years back that was really good. Mountain Dew Livewire was another one that will be greatly missed.

I still see Mountain Dew Livewire around here, mainly in vending machines and fountains. =P
