They hurt my ears too. I dislike headphones anyway... they're bad for my hearing.

Actually, that sounds like it could possibly make for good entertainment, but then again I get off by scaring religious fundies

Aren't there theological issues with baptizing someone who doesn't want to be baptized? (other than infants) I suppose it depends on the specific group...

Just a quick reminder to everyone... now that it's almost time to end Daylight Savings, now is also the best time to replace batteries in both smoke and CO detectors. If the smoke detector is over 10 years old, then it's a much better idea to replace the entire detector rather than just the battery, as the americium contained within decays due to radioactivity.

I just have the episode of The Simpsons in my head where Homer saves Bart from being baptized by Flanders (and ends up taking it in the process).

I, on the other hand, like it.

I like night... part of what I like about this time of year is how it gets dark earlier. (It's perfect as it is now, but I certainly don't mind how it is later...)

Well, this is the "good" daylight savings where you gain an hour of sleep, right?

That is my major concern (Also, I need a better "tired" mood avatar)

Yes it is. You'll gain an extra hour at the expense of getting tired come 5 PM when it's pitch black outside. :\

I honestly HATE this when it's still sometime in October or something. November, I begin easing up, and December, it's like, meh.

At least it's not during Halloween weekend. Still depressing when you look out the window at 5 PM and can't see a thing.

This is only half true.

There's enough Americium left, it's that the electronics themselves degrade instead.

That's just splitting hairs though, anything older than 5-10 years is going to have a lot of false alarms due to the electronics going bad anyway, so if not for safety, then replace it so burning things doesn't cause smoke detector-based annoyances.

Also I've been waiting for this daylight savings time. I need more time to sleep and study.

I hate when a fire alarm are near the end of their battery life and they start beeping at random.

Perhaps, but my family knows I'm an Atheist... Maybe they think I'll "see the light" afterwards?

Yeah. Really depressing.

I'll be closing my curtains tomorrow night since my grandparents don't give out candy.
