	Las Vegas is basically one giant tourist attraction. We go down to the strip (where are the big casinos are) occasionally for events or things like that. And when people come to visit. Then there's the Hoover Dam, another must see attraction when guests are visiting. Other than that, we stick to the local's casinos (Stations) for movies or buffets. These wouldn't be considered tourist attractions 99% of people vacationing in to Las Vegas never know about them. My wife and I have had a "staycation" or two. We stayed at the Mirage for our first anniversary and saw a show at Treasure Island. Then for Valentine's day this year we went to Red Rock Casino and had a couples massage at the spa. ____________________

Eh, not really. There's nothing to actually go to that I couldn't do myself (i.e. ride to go see moose, etc.).

I do wanna hit up the new Pelletier's restaurant that they re-did after the whole American Loggers fame, but I don't have the cash or the desire for fatty food right now.

I just got back from the Seattle Underground Tour, which shows some long-disused lower floors that became basements after they raised the ground in Seattle to avoid disasters like floods.

I think the only tourist attraction in my city is Disneyland. I'm too cheap to go to the park unless I get in for free thanks to employees I know, but I go to Downtown Disney from time to time for dinner and fireworks.

There's a good amount of stuff in Portland I've never been to. I'm also from a capitol city, and I've only been to the building a few times.. It's very impressive inside, though.

Yeah that was good times. I live even closer now than I did when you visited. It's about 4 miles from me. I get to hear the fireworks every night.

Disneyland is practically in my backyard, and I have visited that. There's also Hollywood, which I've visited thoroughly as well. I've also been to various famous restaurants in the area, or at least one or two. And I also went to Dodger Stadium, and so on.

So yeah. Of course, many of the tourist attractions here are those that would bring in anybody; Disneyland, Dodger Stadium, the LA Convention center... I jsut wish I could get into E3, it's right next to me but I never can get access.

what's there to DO in LA? No, really, it seems like there's tons to do but I'm like, out of the loop or something. I already discovered Little Tokyo to be quite fun for an evening out, but surely there's more

granted I've barely only been here two months but yeah. Also probably doesn't help that I really don't know many people outside the person I live with.

As for being a tourist in your own town, we occasionally did touristy stuff in Boston when we'd go in to the city, though that was mostly with family...when my friends and I would go by ourselves we skimped on the touristy stuff and just did whatever seemed fun at the moment. Keep in mind I grew up right by the greater Boston area my whole life (hell, I don't know, is the 508 actually part of the greater Boston area itself? well, whatever)

Um, Ohio is pretty much nothing but massive farmlands sprinkled with ghettos every here and there, and every one in a while you actually find civilization. Not sure we have anything that counts as a tourist attraction. Unless you count the mounds, live shows, amusement parks (like Kings Island a cedar Point), museums, caverns, zoos, parks, fireworks displays and downtown shit. In that case, yeah I do make an effort to experience as much as I can near where I live, but I don't really consider those things tourist attractions as much as they are just stuff for us to do.

There's the Griffith Observatory, the museums (Getty, Getty Villa, Museum of Modern Art, etc), the beaches and piers (Santa Monica for sure), the little gems throughout LA and Hollywood (Pink's hot dogs, Amoeba music, etc), the Walk of Fame and all kinds of other touristy stuff in Hollywood around Sunset and Vine, Universal Studios, Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach, tons of sports teams to see, all kinds of scavenger hunts and geocaching events set up that I want to try, lots of dinner theaters (Midieval Times!!!!) and even themed dinner cruises that I've heard about.

And, of course, people watching. Endlessly entertaining if you're in the right place.

I'll count going to an Ohio State game a "tourist attraction" so I can say that I've been to one here in Columbus. Because I can't think of any others besides maybe the Statehouse and COSI.

The only tourist attraction around here... well, I guess that'd be the Middle of Nowhere, about two miles east of us.

Seriously, though, shitty little town of about 4000 people (according to the 2000 census), a large number of which live in the town's four or five nursing homes. Far as I know, nothing touristy within about 70 miles.

Same, can't think of any tourist attractions way up North here. I used to live in a small town with a cruise ship I rode on a couple times.

Well maybe you can count the severe weather (35°C and up in summer, -40°C and down in winter) and nearly-completely-flat land as a tourist attraction... It is a beautiful, but harsh place. Just it's also a small town, and thus doesn't really have anything to do.

There are hot air balloon rides I'd like to go on sometime. Expensive as heck though.
