Alright, so I have a 3 1/2 year old Gateway laptop, and the backlighting on the screen is dying out on me.
Any way of getting a quick fix on this thing so that like...you know...I'm not screwed into buying a new one? I dare not spend the money on a new one at this point.
Thanks, y'all.
(Note: Snarky remarks about my brand of laptop are not appreciated.)

| | Metal_Man88's Post | Since I hate all laptop brands equally, no snarky comments here.
From what I know, you have to figure out what type of backlighting it uses, then take it apart, find new backlight things which work at the same connector/wiring/voltage, then tediously put those in, and then you're done, after you put it back together.
Not a job for those who haven't been working with computers for a long while. Since you have to put it back together again carefully, lest it cause more problems later.
It's not a very quick fix though, unless you're good at that kind of thing.
