Yeah, for some reason nothing de-news itself.
Right now every forum and a good number of threads for me are reported as new.
I do know to mark all forums read to fix it for awhile, but still, I just wish to report this bug.

I asked this question a while back. It's not a bug, it's just not possible to do it on this version of Acmlm Board (or it's very hard, I'm not really sure).

That's not a bug, it's a feature!

Or, not a bug anyway... the Acmlmboard v.1.92.x code has never had the possibility of having threads automatically lose their "NEW" status, that's only possible in board2 because the thread system works differently...

I finally fixed the problem (seemingly) on another board I run/code/whatever. All it involved (for me) was a slightly altered query and an extra table.

I took out only the modified parts from forum.php and put it in a different file on my server which I sent Xk a link to.

The tough part now is hoping he'll get enough motivation to actually fix it.

I used to do this all the time until I got spoiled by board2. Now I miss it since I had gotten used to it.

I liked the way it worked on board2 (read: it actually worked), but on other forum systems *coughphpbbcough* it's never worked right for me. Some would fail to mark certain threads as new or not new, and one really annoying one marks all threads read if you visit any page of the board and then leave. >:[ If you can do it right, great, otherwise manual marking FTW.

I agree. Board2 has the best read system, on par with IPB2.
phpBB forums just have awful system, and IPB 1.3 forums work but upon leaving the site all threads are marked read.
