The technology is indeed amazing, with little evidence of there being anything being hidden in the first place (image glitchings and phantom mirror objects coming to mind), but it does carry a very high risk of being abused, especially within laws and such. The CIA could even abuse this by deleting highly sensitive information within tapes or images that somehow make it to the public. They would be the ones with the most foresight to use this, since I doubt criminals would be able to hide things quite well with this. I'm just not thinking of any examples of how they would use it at the moment, besides hiding a big drug stash when posting onto their Youtube vlogs.

The issue by removing something frame by frame is that the same area does not look the same in every frame. If you look closely you can see how the world "warp" where the removed object was as the camera move.

Still, pretty cool regardless I'd say.
