Yeah, schools and government buildings. But some companies have it off, too. Now that I think about it, I can't remember if we did or not. I'd have to check an old holiday calendar if its still archived.

My schools in Michigan never closed on Columbus Day or Veterans' Day. My dad got them off work and tended to assume that I got them off school, but I had to go to school those days
