I think the things, here, are that the PS2 had PS1 compat (so people would expect the trend to continue - hell, it did for a bit ) and that the PS2, while it's on its way out, still gets some releases to this day.

Of course, while removing PS2 BC to allow for more PS2 sales does seem like a marketing move, it's not illogical for people to be irritated about it. I don't really care too much, personally, since PS2s are pretty cheap nowadays (and even moreso, used).

You know what I bet they do?

I bet they have Golden Sun 2's clear data files from 2003 work with Golden Sun DS through the GBA slot.

My XL doesn't have a GBA slot.

My Golden Sun 2 also glitches on the final boss.

That *would* be a neat feature but even if they added that as a bonus... it would have to be some sort of unlockable that's also obtainable via a normal playthrough as well. God forbid you throw a bone to those who still hang on to the older technology.

Bit.Trip FATE may be out on October 18...

@krutomisi: It's just for commemoration, a collector's item. They're not expecting a whole lot of people to buy them, and the ones that do will (mostly) be devoted fans. It's more about making it and celebrating than selling it, really. Or at least, that's the case here.

Netflix for Wii drops disc requirement just like the PS3. I never understood why the disc was required anyway. Anyone know?

Edit: And for the players who take their Wii Table Tennis way too seriously...

Maybe they just never bothered to make a channel for it, but now that it's in Canada as well...

This week's downloads have a classic quest, a Nintendo-published puzzle game (meaning it's probably decent) and a card maker application that you should stay away from at all costs unless you love pissing away money.

Netflix did it as a way to get around the agreement with microsoft for a built in netflix in a system. Since the disc is not "built in" it gets around the issue.

Just as a small note, NA is finally going to get those red special edition Wii & DSi bundles, available November 7. The Wii will come with NSMBW and the DSi will come with Mario Kart DS.

I just ordered the DSi XL bundle.

What's interesting to mention is that it comes with NSMB rather then Mario kart DS. Then again, that may be a region thing. :<

Normally I would not do this but... my DS lite is kinda in rough shape, to say the least. Not to mention that this is cheaper then buying a new DS lite or DSi (XL or not) on the market here. ;

The price tag is a little smaller here... but I ordered online not to mention it could be a currency thingy. Now I just need to figure out how to sell this copy of NSMB as I already have a copy. :p

I know the 3DS is just around the corner, but I won't pick it up until quite some time after launch in order to get it in a good color, or if they decided to make a better version a year or so later (Hello DSlite, DSi, DSi XL) I can pick up that instead. :p

In other news, I was not able to pick up that copy of fourswords for the GC as it was already sold when I got there. :sadface:

I'll wait for the 3DS. Really no point in upgrading when the DSiWare will still be available for that platform as well. Throwing away money unless I got one for free, really.
