I have a good feeling about this. Inafune's always wanted to make MML3 but he's never had the chance.
Capcom's throwing its weight behind the 3DS... looks like they have a good handle on the system too. The quick video shown of Super Street Fighter IV looked *VERY* impressive.

Similar to my situation except that I beat the first one and got to the boss of the game in the second one but failed miserably. Plus on top of that I remember about 5% of the story and I would really like to be up to speed in case this game references any of the events that happened in the first two (which I hope it does). Guess I know what games I'm going to be playing when I go home for weekends now at least .
So ya, for the continuation of the legends series, Mega man 64 was one of my favorite games back in the day.

I myself have never admittedly gotten into the series. I've seen it played once. It looks like a nice AU, but just I never had an opportunity to play it myself, so I haven't gotten into it.

Actually, MML is supposed to fit somewhere in the actual MM timeline, rather than be an AU, though I don't remember exactly where. I think it was probably supposed to be placed in the future somewhere after the ZX games.
I never did get around to buying MML1...

I know it fits into the main timeline, but it doesn't feel like an official entry to me. It really just feels more like an AU to me. Different strokes for different folks, I suppose.

Yeah, it felt a bit like an AU to me, too. Such as how it's quite convenient there are two characters named Rockman/Mega Man and Roll, working together, in the future... (It's starting to remind me of some of the 'various' Link origin stories...)
Didn't they (supposedly try to) justify everything by shoving MML so far into the future that practically anything could have happened to change the world... maybe even multiple times? (Have to find that timeline, again...)
For me, I just felt a vague disconnect when playing MML2. Not that I thought it was bad - but I'll admit it was the first 3D Mega Man game I'd played, so maybe, it was unavoidable. (Though, I don't think I had the same sense when I first played Mario 64... Sonic Adventure, perhaps.)

They're all set after another. An apocalypse of the week clears out nearly every series to make way for the next. The main exception happens with the EXE series, which is essentially the Classic Megaman down a completely different tangent in history.
