According to various sources, there are three new Kingdom Hearts games coming out, one on the PSP, one on the DS, and one on cell phones.

The PSP one apparently tells the story of three new characters, so this is to KHIII like CoM was to KHII, which is basically a prequel... maybe.

The DS one involves you playing as Roxas and Organization XIII members. From what I could gather, a prequel to KHII.

And finally, the cell phone game. Takes place right after Kingdom Hearts.

...wow. I think they are going to milk this series dry. If the games are good then I'll be able to at least play the DS one. However... I think they are going a bit too far with the franchise. CoM was a good prequel, as it really set the story to KHII, but these really... don't seem like they are going to say things that we already don't know.

I'm a bit skeptical. I like KH and KHII was getting good with the story, but... somehow I feel these are just not going to do much but make the name Kingdom Hearts feel like Final Fantasy VII...

Maybe...but FFVII has Crisis Core to worry about. It's the only decent addition to FFVII since the original. Sure KHII has some decent offshoots of it, but it's nothing spectacular...except beating Sephiroth around.

If cellphone games takes place after KH then doesn't that mean it'd equal something around CoM? That's still a game I haven't finished. Think I had Sora up to level 50 or so and still couldn't beat the last boss because I relied too much on Omnislash instead of getting magics to actually hit the fscker. The system blew, in my opinion...

The 'three new people' thing is probably based on the KH2 ending...though I have a feeling that they aren't new.

Nope. From what I could gather it involves Jiminy going back to Disney Castle and writing more in his journal when he discovers some message.

I have an issue with that for the obvious reason that CoM took place directly after KH and that Jiminy was with Sora and them through all of that game too.

I wouldn't say the PSP title is milking things at all.. Even though it takes place sometime after KH1 (making it a prequel of sorts), it involves the new batch of characters that we got a glimpse of in KH2:FM's secret ending, not Sora and the gang like usual. That said, I see absolutely nothing wrong with it other than the fact it is coming out on the PSP.. (Why, why come out on that handheld of all things..)

The Mobile Phone title is indeed probably milking things a bit.. but from the summary I read, it takes place sometime after CoM.. Jimmy finds something from the notes he took specifically from CoM, so yea, it would probably have to be after KH2 at the earliest.

The DS installment.. well, we didn't actually get to know everything about the Organization members, like how Roxas started out and how he and Axel became friends.. etc.. So no again, I don't think this is just telling us things we already know. If anything, it is fleshing out a lot of the weak areas of the plot. Not to mention I've heard things about a 14th member.. someone totally new. And as well.. Multiplayer support.. making it all sound pretty interesting to me.

This really does sound like just milking the series for everything they can get... Three "sequels" (ignoring plot order), on three different systems? Right...

If they wanted to flesh it out, they could always just have three different plot lines on one game, and just select which to play

They did that in CoM, where after you did one side of the story you played the other half.

And yes, while they may add in a few bits to the story, I feel that none of these are really going to be a game with a story so involving in the KH series like CoM was, which played a huge role in the beginning of KHII.

Well, considering how they did CoM and KHII, the plotline that was originally there was extended and brought forth a number of questions...far more than the original did.

I could see them pulling it off but I can only say that it'd be a lot of work. To divide it into three games is pretty hefty load so I would expect something would falter in it.

When does Final Mix+ come out anyways?

EDIT: Well what do you fscking know...they just removed the TBA on KH2 FM+. It isn't coming state-side.

I'm fairly sure that one takes place long before any of the other games.

The DS one sounds kinda fun. Multiplayer, team-based action RPG? Count me in.

(The cell phone one is almost certainly not coming out here. Just look at the FF7:BC, and that one's even in a more lucrative series name.)
