Yeah, so, thread title pretty much describes topic context. Social networks will never beat good ol' boards if you ask me (heck, they even mimic 'em ), but still, I've become quite hooked on them a few years ago. I use Facebook, LinkedIn and a Dutch Facebook-ish social network called Hyves.
Twitter's a social network too, yeah. And I have one, in fact. Though I just have it to claim the name, I don't actually "tweet". I don't like Twitter.
I have a myspace account that I haven't logged in to in about 8 months. I actively post on Facebook but my friends are mostly my family and some people from various churches that we've gone to over the years. I despise Twitter and its pseudo blogging crap. Never registered, never will.

Twitter and Facebook, plus a dead MySpace, a LiveJournal, and a deviantART page.

Facebook, which I hardly ever use. I fail to see the point of websites that only serves the purpose of letting us know that somebody is smoking before bed.

Facebook and DeviantART, that's about it. I used to use Myspace to keep in touch with my friends but they all went conformist with each other and ditched it the second Facebook became popular. I followed once literally all of my friends went inactive on Myspace.
I don't network socially on websites, really. I have a myspace that I haven't checked in years and a facebook I rarely check (but I use the XMPP interface for chat.).
I only use Twitter. Never a big fan of social networking sites. With my luck I'd refuse to friend someone for some reason and all hell would break lose because Facebook is serious business.

Nothing. I am way more talkative when together with people directly. Although there IS an account on a big nation-wide university networking site I created shortly after I matriculated first, I logged in four or five times until now, and since 2007 or so I never signed in again. Maybe the account even got deleted, don't know.
I have to admit that certain networks using the web CAN help you in terms of good jobs. If someone knows you as a regular contact, this might really boost your chances to acquire a good position or job, though. But personally even inside online games (StarCraft II being the only game I own which is played online) I rarely chat too much. Nothing against Twitter, Facebook and so on, but I am afraid about information some people give out. Remember: The internet never forgets anything, if something ugly from your past comes up there, for instance.
