It was made possible not very long after it was released (a month at most). If you're just now asking about an editor, you're way late.

Basic editing of the game was privately functional before the game was even released in North America. It was so similar to NSMB's coding that porting the NSMB editor was simple enough for Treeki and a few others to do.

Yeah...The level format is nearly the same as NSMB DS. Treeki started coding the editor even before I knew that the game was leaked...
He told me that he was making the editor, and i was like: NSMBW? This soon?
And then rushed to download the iso
