Wired article

Statement from Apple

So basically ... yeah. You can now use runtimes that aren't part of the iOS (like Creative Suite 5's flash app builder thing.) That opens up the iOS platform to a LOT of different people who weren't that adept at coding using Objective-C etc. The restriction that is that the app can't download any additional code without either informing the user (and Apple) or being an in-app purchase of some kind.

This is excellent news. This could mean that Windows users could make iOS apps. Unless you have to compile it through Adobe Flash into Apple's editor. I've been wanting to take a stab at making an app but I never could since I do not own a Mac.

Paulguy's Post configuration
I think you still need xcode and iphone sdk to write native apps.

The only method of making a native iPhone app (outside of XCode) right now that I know of is a direct export to the correct format from Flash CS5's FlashBuilder tool. Presumably before long there will be ways to develop apps without requiring access to a Macintosh other than this, though.
